Good thing, we exchanged numbers. Gusto ko talagang bumawi sa kan'ya kaya humingi ako ng number niya to still keep in touch with him. He didn't take it as a big deal naman, in fact he willingly gave it to me.
That weird deep connection nga naman.
I heard Naia and Rei's sleepy groans when they woke up. And then I tied my hair in a messy bun, wore a cream romper, a brown sandal, and my sunglasses. We had our breakfast late na tuloy together. Bakit ba? This was the last day so I should enjoy.
He's playing with a kid. They're building a sand castle together. I smiled of how cute the view was.
“Good morning, Azi!” I greeted with a wide smile plastered on my face.“It's almost noontime,” he answered and chuckled..
“Kapatid mo?” I asked, pertaining to the boy he's with.
“No, just a random kid. He invited me to play with him.”
Tumango-tango ako at parang nag-squat para makisali sa kanila. “Can I join, too?” malambing kong tanong sa bata. The kid immediately nodded as a response, smiling. I helped them build the sand castle. Malaki ang ginawa nila kaya medyo matagal bago natapos. My skin was already burning because of the scorching heat. Good thing I put some sunscreen.
“So, paano ako makakabawi sa 'yo? Uhm.. are you fond of home cooked meals? Marunong akong magluto or... I'll help you with your schoolworks! I'm a consistent honor student since pre-school. Pinakamababang grade ko na ang 95 and I assure you, magaling ako sa acads! Or I'll treat you na lang, just name what you want to buy.” I opened the topic again.
Azi chuckled, “You really don't have to, Shim. It's enough for me to see you safe and okay,” he said.
His eyes locked in mine. Napailing ako at iniwas ang tingin. “I insist. Gusto ko talagang makabawi sa 'yo. I owe you big time for saving my life, Azi. It became a big deal to me since I heard nag-flat line ka pa. I crossed my arms over my chest. I felt so guilty.
Azi sniggered. It was as if he find everything I say funny. His gaze went to the sea as he licked his lower lip. “It was my decision to save you, Shim. You are not held accountable for that so don't blame yourself. I am not asking anything in return. Hindi nga kita nailigtas, e. We both ended up in the hospital.”
