Now, me being me, I nodded stupidly and backed out of the bar slowly as he stood up. As soon as I shut the door, I bolted out of the town, back to the bridge. I crossed it and nearly fell off of it as well, and then I stumbled into the snow on the other side.
"Nope nope nope nope NOPE NOPE NOPE GET ME AWAY FROM THERE." I shrieked as I ran. The trees and bushes passed by in a blur. "Please tell me he's not chasing me."
I risked a look behind me.
The crazy skeleton wasn't anywhere to be seen.
"Is that good or bad?" I asked myself as I continued running. I tripped over a tough looking branch and fell face first into the snow. I got up as quick as I could and kept running still. "I do not want to die. Nope. Nope. Get me out of here. I'm going back to those ruins, locking the door, and hiding in a bed of flowers forever."
I passed the plate of spaghetti and nearly tripped over the table. Then I almost impaled myself on a spike, which was for some reason sticking out of the ground.
"I though those were down!" I yelped as I jumped over it.
I looked behind me again and could've sworn I saw the skeleton for a split second. Then I blinked and he was gone.
"Just seeing things." I whispered, running out of breath. I thought about hiding in the trees, but the forest was too dense. I'd get stuck on branches and bushes and that guy would find me instantly.
I reached the door to the runed area, finally.
The doors were shut.
And there were no handles.
I tugged and pushed as hard as I could.
They wouldn't opened.
"No no no no no no no no no." I said, looking behind me again. "I can't-"
I paused as I spotted a thick bush.
I dove into it and hit my head on a camera. I moved around the camera and settled myself in the bush in a very uncomfortable position. But maybe I'd get to live.
Had it been five minutes?
I'm gonna die. I thought.
I could just barely see two bony legs walk towards the door. I held my breath.
The skeleton knocked on the doors. When he got no response, he shrugged.
"Where are you~" He chuckled. "I know you're hereeee~"
I felt the blood roar in my ears as I continued to hold my breath. But I couldn't risk him finding me. I clenched my fists until my nails broke the skin, causing them to bleed.
"Hmm... Perhaps she isn't here." He continued to talk to himself. "Perhaps she fell off the bridge and died. That'd be nice." He paused. "Huh? Why am I doing this?"
Was he... Talking to someone?
I couldn't see anyone else with him.
I felt something tug at my chest. I thought it was just my heart beating so fast.
"Well, I suppose if she isn't here, I can check the other parts of the forest again. Unless she hid in the trees." He said. "HEY, HUMAN! YOU UP THERE OR SOMETHIN'?" When he got no response, he shrugged. I went flying out of the bush somehow. "Welp. Guess she isn't th-" He paused and turned, his grin widening. "Oh, hello. I didn't see ya there." He flicked his hand towards him, and I was pulled towards him by some invisible force.
"G-Get away from me." I growled, trying to kick him.
He slammed me against a tree and stalked towards me, a sharp bone in his hands. His eyes were still red.
