Y/N POV

~~~~~~~~
"'Ey, boss, we're all goin' out after breakfast." Horror said, gesturing to literally everyone but me and Nightmare.
Nightmare raised a bony eyebrow. "What about Y/N?"
"Yeah, what about her?" Dust growled. "Don't just leave her out."
"Well, I kinda wanted us all to bond." Horror said. "Like, without her? We've all been hangin' out with her, and now we wanna hang out with you."
"And we have to take Blue, Dream, and Ink?"
"Wh- Yes you have to take us!" Blue protested. "We wanna bond, too!"
Dust sighed, then glared at Nightmare. "I swear if you even think-"
"Relax, I'm not gonna hurt her." Nightmare said. In a mocking voice, he added, "I wouldn't even dream of disobeying you."
Dust rolled his eyes. "If I come back and there's even a scratch-"
"Dust." I placed my hand over his. "I'll be fine. Go have fun."
"...Not gonna be much fun unless you're there." He muttered.
"Go." I kissed his cheek and he blushed.
"Here? Seriously?" He scrunched up his face.
"It's not like they don't know." I put a hand on his cheekbone. "Go have fun." I pressed a kiss to his bony lips.
"Mph- Y/N!" He pulled away, blushing madly.
I giggled. "Go have funnn. I'll be ok."
"Hnggg, ok, fine." He looked away, pressed a really quick kiss to my cheek, and got up. "Are we goin' now or what?"
"Yup." Horror teleported them all away, snatching a bagel before doing so.
"Looks like it's just me and you, hm?" Nightmare looked at me, tendrils swaying in the air.
I nodded and bit into a bagel. Now that him and I were actually alone, it felt awkward.
This man tried to kill me time and time again... And yet... I can't stay mad at him. Why is that? Am I just naive?
Dust's words echoed through my head.
"To be honest, I see myself as a villain. But you- You still choose to see the good in me. You remind me of Papyrus in some ways, Y/N."
I'll always see the good in Dust. No matter what. But Nightmare? Why do I see the good in him? We aren't friends.
Nightmare cleared his throat, dragging me out of my thoughts. "If you're quite done staring at your bagel," he said, "I'd like to tell you something."
"H-Huh?" I blinked. "O-Oh, sorry. I was just lost in thought."
"I could tell." He leaned forward, lacing his fingers together.
"W-What is it you wanted to say?" I tilted my head at him.
He sighed. "I believe I owe you an apology."
"For what?"
"...For all the times I tried to kill you...?"
"Oh." I frowned. "Nightmare, i-it's ok. I'm not mad at you."
"You should be." He leaned backwards with a sigh. Then he frowned. "Why does everyone try to see the good in me? First my brother, and now you."
"I mean, if you were too far gone, would you have let us stay?" I pointed out. "You've gotta be somewhat good, y'know?"
