~ Woozi's POV ~

The last few days were hell. Seungkwan is still in the ICU, but he was conscious yesterday. Hoshi and Dokyeom were visiting him, and apparently, he opened his eyes, and even held their hands. In the evening, the doctors even extubated him, and he can now breathe on his own.

We got the week off, cleared of all schedules, which was very rare in the industry. Usually, when a member is injured, the others have to carry on, but this time, the entertainment decided to give us a longer break, so we can recover, and return without feeling rushed.

Seungcheol was visiting Seungkwan in the hospital, and the rest of us were at home, cooking lunch. Since the accident, we weren't really paying attention on our meals, we just ate a ramen, or ordered food, but we needed to get back to healthier meals. As we were in the kitchen, my phone started ringing.

- One minute, guys. – And I stepped outside, on the balcony. – Hello?

- Hi, it's Seungcheol. He's speaking!

- Who, Kwan? Really??

- Yes, I'm so happy, Jihun! Y'all can come visit in the afternoon, I'm on my way home!

I hung up, and got back inside, with a huge smile. The others were just as ecstatic like I was, this was a huge milestone.

He was going to be just fine.

~ Hoshi's POV ~

Yesterday, I finally felt hopeful. As I was visiting in the hospital, Seungkwan suddenly opened his eyes, and squeezed my hand back. I spent hours by his bed, but I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I left in the evening, and after I got home, we got a call, that he was now breathing on his own.

Today, when we were preparing lunch, Jihun suddenly announced, that Seungkwan started speaking. I was in awe of his strength; he was making so much progress in so little time. I wanted to just run to the hospital, but I had to let others visit him too.

- Bon appetite, guys. Hope you like it, we need to get back to our normal diet. - Joshua announced, placing some food in front of us. I couldn't even concentrate on what I was eating, my mind was next to my best friend, talking and laughing with him. I deeply missed his presence.

- So, today, Minghao and Jun will visit, and in the evening, our manager will try to have a video chat set up, if Kwan's doing well enough. – Seungcheol announced after lunch, while we were all gathered in the living room. – Meanwhile, we have to start thinking about going back to practice. I know that this took a toll on all of us, but we have to be conscious of our fans' too. All they know is that Seungkwan got injured, and is on hiatus for months, possibly, and we stop updating for a week. Must be scary.

We all nodded in agreement. I personally couldn't wait to get back to the practice room, choreograph new dances, and put out new content. It was my lifeline, and I was suffering without it.

- But for now, we rest. I'm going outside, to get some sunshine, feel free to join me. – And with that, we slowly left to do our own thing. A few of the members went outside, grabbing some beers along the way, Jun and Minghao headed to the hospital, and I retreated to my room.

Inside, I didn't know what to do. I tried reading, playing video games, taking a nap, but my mind was all over the place. After a while, I gave up, and joined a few of my members in the living room, who were watching some series. I grabbed my blanket, my phone, and snuggled up in the corner of the sofa. I didn't realize that it was evening already, only when Minghao and Jun got back home, and were smiling ear to ear.

- He's doing so much better, he's really strong. We talked with him, his voice sounds like shit though, from the tube, I guess. But we will try having a videochat with him in an hour.

I felt such intense relief, that I didn't even hear the last part, only that he was getting better. My Boo was getting better.

The videochat went well, but his voice was really hoarse and he could only whisper after a few sentences. The manager explained, that if he keeps making progress at this rate, he could be home in the next few days. We were all over the moon, and made Seungkwan promise to keep improving.

~ Seungkwan's POV ~

I don't remember much. After my fall, I only remember waking up a few times in the hospital, but my mind was really fuzzy and my memory really spotty. Apparently, it's partly due to some head trauma, and partly from the meds. I remember opening my eyes, and seeing Hoshi, and remember having a videocall with the members.

- How are you this morning, Seungkwan? – The nurse walked in on my eighth day there, smiling as usual.

- Just fine. – I answered. I preferred to talk as little as possible, as I hated how my voice sounded.

- Glad to hear that. Your vitals, and blood work looks really good, it's safe to say that you've made a very quick recovery. The doctor will be with you shortly, to talk about discharging you.

Discharging me.

Could it be happening?

Turns out, it could. The doctor explained, that although I have to wear a neck brace for 2 months, and have to take meds, I could go home, even today. I could barely believe him, and when my members arrived, then were just as shocked too.

- Our Boo is coming home! – They chanted almost all the way home, until I stopped them, because the noise was hurting my head. When we arrived, I immediately headed to my room, and fell asleep almost instantly. I missed my members, but I missed my own bed just as much.

- Knock knock, can I come in? – I heard Hoshi in my doorway.

- Sure, come on in. – He made his way towards me, and sat down at the edge of my bed.

- Huh. I'm so happy to have you home. I missed you so much.

- I've missed you too. – I almost started crying, he means so much to me.

- I was so worried about you, I really thought you weren't going to make it... - He was getting emotional too.

- I know, I know. But I did, and I'm here to stay.

- Yeah. – And with that, we were both out of words. He reached out to me, and I sat up.

That was a bad idea. I immediately got dizzy, and shaky. The room wouldn't stop turning with me, and I closed my eyes to avoid the discomfort. I felt my body tip forward, and I fell right into Hoshi's arms. He hugged me, softly and carefully.

- We have a long way to go. – I whispered.

- We do.  But you're strong, stronger than any of us. But let's lay down, I don't want to exhaust you even more. – He then swept the hair out of my face, switched off the lights, and closed the door.

I was only awake for a minute or so after, but I knew, that the hard fight to stay alive was finally over. I was surrounded with love and positivity, and nothing was as helpful, and my friend's support.
