🐯 Dino - Football Game

~Dino's POV ~

Sometimes we, as idols, need to do hard things in order to promote our songs, and projects. This was no different.

Our management arranged a football tournament with many teams, in order to gain new listeners and viewers. I wasn't a big fan of this idea, but I didn't really have a choice.

- Teams will consist of 6 people, so we will have 2 teams. Minghao, you will sit this one out, because of your injury, obviously. The teams will be drawn right before the game .

I was less than thrilled, but many seemed happy to play football. Seungcheol, Vernon and Jun all played when they were little, they wanted to show off their skills.

~ 5-day time skip ~

Today was match day. I still had a bad feeling about it, but thought, I was overreacting it.

- First team of Seventeen: Seungkwan, Wonwoo, DK, Dino, S.Coups and Jeonghan! The rest will be the second team! You will compete against each other in an hour!

We were changing, when the teams were announced. I was glad, that Cheol was in our team, at least someone knows how to play football.

- Let's warm up, follow me. - Vernon took the lead, and he made sure that all of us were warmed up.

Soon enough, we were standing on the pitch, and the match started. I didn't really touch the ball, I left it to those, who knew what they were doing.
At the end, we won 1-0. I was celebrating with the others, when our next opponent was announced: Stray Kids.

I wasn't too afraid now, they weren't really competitive in this. After watching 2 matches, it was our turn again.

- All right, guys, I know this is just a game, but let's try to win. We got this!

We got into our positions, and the match started. We got off to a great start, the ball was by Cheol, and he was running towards their goalkeeper. He didn't score, but was really close.

- Good job! - I yelled at him, and gave him a thumbs-up. He reciprocated the gesture.

I started running backwards, because I saw their goalkeeper throwing the ball towards us.

I didn't realize that someone was behind me.

I collided with someone's elbow, and it hit my back pretty hard. I felt like my spine was broken, and felt my legs giving up. Waves of pain ran through my body, and my mind went blank.

I collapsed onto the grass, gasping for air. But I wasn't able to breathe, it felt like my lungs were closed, all I could do was wheeze and wave to someone, anyone to help.

I felt like I was going to suffocate.

- What happened, are you okay? - Cheol was immediately by my side, examining me for any cuts or bruises.

I tried to answer him, but nothing came out of my throat. So I just looked at him, helpless and pleading, but in the end, I felt my vision become blurry, and myself becoming weaker and weaker.

I tried to fight it, I felt like if I pass out, I'll for sure die here.

But I was weak and tired, so I let the nothingness surround me.

~ Seungcheol's POV ~

Everything went super well, I almost scored at the beginning of the game. Then, the goalkeeper threw the ball back, I saw Dino collide with Changbin from Stray Kids, then he collapsed onto the grass.

I though he was just playing, but then I saw him grabbing at his throat, and desperately waving for help.

He couldn't breathe.

I ran to him, and tried to ask him about when happened, but he fell unconscious before he could answer. I immediately checked his breathing: it was very slow and shallow.

Two medics ran now to him, and pushed me away. It all happened so fast, I wasn't able to really realize what happened in front of me. And before I could ask, how he is, he was lifted into an ambulance, and transported to a hospital.

We were left on the pitch, helpless and without answers.

~ Dino's POV ~

It felt easier to breathe now. I didn't want to open my eyes yet, but somehow I knew, that I was safe.

- But he'll be okay, right? - Ah, Minghao hyung.

- Yes, he just needs rest. It wasn't that serious of an injury. The collision just knocked the wind out of his lungs, and he fainted due to shock and stress. If all goes well, he can be taken home after he wakes up.

Home? I wanted to go home. So I forced myself to open my eyes, and look around. Of course, I was in a hospital. There was an oxygen cannula in my nose, but nothing else seemed to be wrong.

- Chan, how are you? - Minghao's smiling face was over me, and I smiled back.

- Fine, hyung. Just a bit tired.

- You scared us so much, how are you feeling?

- Much better. I wanna go home. - He laughed at my remark, and so did the doctor, who just entered the room.

After some tests and a discussion about what really happened, they were able to discharge me finally.

Back home, my hyungs were waiting for me with open arms, and I couldn't be happier to be home.

Turns out, the football tournament went on without our team, we were replaced, and it was a big success. Many new fans viewed our channel and listened to our music, and wished me a quick recovery.

In the future, our company promised us, that no sport tournaments will be necessary to gain new fans.
