~ Beomgyu's POV ~As we pulled into the parking lot of the gas station, I saw a huge crowd on the road next to it. There was an ambulance too, and a police car just arrived.
- What happened there? – I asked the driver. – I hope whoever it is, they're okay.
- Looks like an accident. Oh my god, look at that car! That does not look good.
I turned my head towards a wreckage, it truly looked awful. The front of it was almost completely obliterated, and the driver's door was cut out, they must've pulled the driver out there. But wait a second...
- That looks like Yeonjun's car... - I muttered. And then the realization hit me.
I started to run towards the crowd, the driver right behind me. I wanted to throw up, it couldn't be true, right? It's someone else car, it must be. Please, let it be. I pushed through the crowd, and then I was faced with a nightmare.
- OH MY GOD, IS THAT HIM?? YEONJUN? – I yelled, and almost fell over. My dear hyung was laying on the concrete, in bloody clothes, his hands in splints, an oxygen mask on his face, and an IV drip next to him. He looked completely broken. He almost looked dead.
- Sir, sir, please step back. Do you know him? – A paramedic turned to me, and I nodded, I was in tears already. He asked for my ID, and then turned to Yeonjun, who gave him a small nod. At least he was awake. The paramedic motioned me next to him, and I took his bloody, cold hand.
- Yeonjun, what the hell happened? – I looked at him, but he seemed to be unconscious. Then, two other paramedics came, and carefully placed him inside the car.
- Beomgyu, can you drive behind us? I don't think there's enough room in the back? – I nodded again, but I didn't hear any of it. Seeing my hyung in that state shocked me to my core, and I couldn't move. Then my driver guided me back, and we started driving to the hospital.
- Can you call the other boys? – He asked, about halfway there.
- I don't know. – I whispered. – I can try.
I took out my phone, and called the only person, who I thought could be calm in this situation.
~ Taehyun's POV ~
- What are they doing? – I was looking at the app, where I say Gyu's and Yeonjun's icons meet next to the gas station, and then they started moving in the opposite direction. – Are you guys seeing this too? – The other two nodded, and looked just as confused as I was.
- Maybe they decided to have a last-minute trip...? – Hyuka suggested, but none of us believed it. They would always call, when plans changed. Right at that second, Soobin's phone rang.
- Hi, Gyu. What are you guys doing? – He answered. I looked at his face. First, he seemed kind of annoyed, then confused, then even more confused.
- Hey, slow down, I can't understand a damn thing! Breathe! What happened? – I got a bad feeling about this. I was still trying to decipher his expressions: confused, attentive, and then... shocked, scared, panicked. Oh no.
- Jesus christ. We'll be there. Stay strong. – He lowered his phone, and stared in front of him.
- So? Are they coming? – Hyuka didn't seem to listen.
- No. Apparently, Yeonjun was in a car accident, and it's really bad. Tae, call the manager for another driver. We're going to the hospital. – My worst fear came true. We just stared at our leader, equally as shocked and shaken up.
- Quickly. – He whispered. I didn't even realize that I was on the phone with our manager, and only came to, when we were already in the car. Hyuka was quietly crying next to me, I was staring out the window, and Soobin was making calls after calls. He was in full leader mode.
When we arrived, bodyguards were waiting for us and we were escorted inside. Apparently, someone sent a photo of the scene to a newspage, and now a bunch of paparazzi were there, taking photos of us. Hyuka flinched, he seemed to be the most affected. I grabbed his shoulder, and pulled him beside me, so we could be inside as soon as possible. Soobin and following me closely after, muttering curse words at the photographers.
We were led to a private room, where we found our driver, and next to him, a sobbing Beomgyu. He was shaking, and the driver hugged him from the side.
- How are you, Gyu? – Soobin jumped next to him, pulling him into a hug.
- H-hyung, it's my-my fault! – The younger cried out.
- Why would it be? You didn't cause the accident, did you? – I asked.
- No, b-but I should've calle-ed for a d-driver, instead of sending him.
- You only wanted to help, we all agreed to give him small tasks, so he could feel a bit more important. – Soobin tried to soothe him, but Gyu was still convinced, that he caused this.
- You're here for Choi Yeonjun, correct? – A nurse came into the room. We nodded in unison.
- Please follow me. – We got up, and walked after her. We ended up in a private recovery room, where we found Yeonjun.
Tears started rolling out of my eyes, when I saw him. His head and arms were covered in bandages, he was wearing a neck brace, an oxygen mask, and had multiple IVs. Machines were placed next to him, all monitoring a different thing.
- Good day. – We heard a deep voice behind us. – I'm Doctor Kwon Minho, I'm in charge of Yeonjun's recovery. You must be his team members, correct? – He smiled at us.
- Yes, hi. - We bowed. – How is he? – Soobin asked.
- Currently, he's sleeping, but when he was brought it, he was in quite a bit of pain, understandably so. During the accident, he lost some blood, so he's going to get multiple infusions. He also suffered a spinal cord injury, which is a serious condition. Besides that, his right elbow was dislocated, and he has some cuts and bruising on his arms, abdomen, and legs.
We listened in silence, stunned. It all sounded so serious, I wasn't sure what to say.
- Um, thank you, doctor. For how long does he need to stay here? – Soobin's voice was shaky and quiet.
- Right now, I would say one to two weeks, and after he gets discharged, he would have to attend physical therapy. – One to two weeks. My poor hyung...
- All right, thank you for all your hard work. – Hyuka bowed deep, and we followed. I was eternally grateful for him.
- Thank you, I'm here to help. – The doctor smiled, bowed, and left the room. We were alone with our injured friend.
- Yeonjun-hyung, we love you very much. You have to recover quickly.
~ Yeonjun's POV ~
I hated hospitals, everything from the smell, the whiteness, and of course, the illnesses: they were all repulsive to me. So, staying there for 10 days and 9 nights was equal to a nightmare in my eyes.
Thankfully, my members and friends were there every step of the way, and helped me keep my spirits up.
I was home after 10 days, but I had to go back every second day to receive physical therapy. After a few days, I finally noticed some improvement, and after a month, I could start dancing again, Carefully, of course, but I have never been happier.
I also had long meeting with the company and management. They forbade me of driving in the near future, and assigned two drivers to us, so we had truly no excuse to drive ourselves. Of course, I agreed 100%, the events traumatized me to the point, where for a few weeks, I couldn't even sit in a car without freaking out. But I started to overcome this fear.
At the end, I was left with a small, constant pain in my neck, but I had a new appreciation for life and health.
