~ Jimin's POV ~
I have a weird relationship with fame. I love being able to put out music and performances, that I know people will enjoy, and there are so many people supporting us. But there are also many people wishing on our downfall.
Since our music began reaching new audiences, there are multiple messages sent to us every day about wanting to stop us, stalk us, harm us - even kill us. But thankfully, our company takes these messages seriously, and there hasn't been a major incident. Most of the messages are just sent to scare us, there's no real intention behind them.
But there is a person, who keeps messaging me. I block them, but they reappear with a new number. It's always the same person, saying the same things:
"I know where you are, Park Jimin. Count your days"
I reported it to a manager a long time ago, I even changed my number multiple times, but it keeps on going. Our security got doubled, and we are not allowed to leave the house, unless two body guards are accompanying us. It's gotten really annoying, but it's safe, at least.
Lately, they started sending me photos of myself, taken just a few minutes I see them. It's started to seriously freak me out, but today, something even more terrifying happened.
They sent me a picture of our apartment. Specifically of my window, with me looking out of it. I immediately covered my window with towels and clothes, and ran to get the others.
We have to get out of here.
- Guys, please, we have to leave! I just got a picture of my window! - I was in tears at this point, and I couldn't stop trembling. Someone was outside our apartment, and probably wanted to get inside.
- Huh? Your window? - Joon looked at me with worry. He was sitting at the dinner table, helping Jin prepare dinner. He was peeling a potato, Jin watching over him. The others were in the living room, but they still heard me.
- Yeah, it was taken just a few minutes ago! - I showed them the picture: they were equally freaked out, and alarmed. Yoongi came up behind me, Hobi and the maknaes were standing in the doorway. I covered my mouth, as to not sob even louder. I was barely able to see anything, my tears made the world blurry.
- Okay, let's calm down. I'll call the manager, and then we can decide what to do. If it's really from today, they're probably still around, so calling the police might not be a bad idea. - Jin got his phone out, and made a call.
Before he could finish the conversation - a loud knock came from the door. We all jumped a bit.
- Wow, our manager is really fast today! - Hobi exclaimed, as cheerful as ever. He walked to the door, and peaked out as a habit. He immediately backed down, shaking.
- That's not... who is that? - He whispered, still staring at the door. Yoongi ran to the door, peaking out.
- Someone is here, dressed in all black. How could've they gotten in?? - Our apartment was in a gated house, and only a handful of people knew about it, and even lesser people knew the passcode. Someone got ahold of this information. Someone was here for us, and not with good intentions.
The knocking on the door now turned to banging, and the moving of the door handle turned to it shaking and rattling violently.
I couldn't handle this anymore. I put my whole group in danger. I backed to the wall, supporting my back.
- Will we die?? Hyung, we will die! - I tried controlling my thoughts, but it was all futile. My body and mind were so consumed with worry and anxiety, that they ran out of energy.
I had to squat down, so I don't pass out. I covered my eyes and my mouth, I wanted to disappear. I wanted all of this to go away.- Jiminie, stop, we will not die. We will have to wait for the managers, they will take care of this. Hey, calm down. - Hobi knelt down next to me, and embraced me. - Look at me, this is not your fault. You did the best you could avoiding this freak. They will likely catch them now.
His words comforted me a bit, and his smile made my heart a bit lighter.
Whatever will I do without him...?
- Hey! Is anyone inside? Police, open up! - I have never been happier hearing those words. Joon motioned us to stay back, and looked out the hole on the door, to see if it was really the police. He then opened the door.
- We got a call that someone was threatening to break into this apartment, and has been actively stalking someone, who's living here. - The others looked at me, and I carefully stood up. - Sir, has someone been stalking or threatening you?
- Yes, they sent me pictures of myself every day, and even some about the apartment. And they have been trying to get in for the past 10 minutes. - I was still crying and gasping for air, it has all been entirely too much for me to handle.
- All right, would you come down to the station with us? We have arrested someone, who was seen running from the premises a few minutes ago, they couldn't prove that they lived here. - I nodded.
Has my nightmare finally come to an end?
Turns out, it did. The stalker was a barely adult young girl, who was following me everywhere, and was posting hate and threats online almost every day. The police confiscated all of her social media accounts, and found some scary stuff.
They found a post from the day before, where she detailed how she would break in, and do awful stuff to me and my members.
I still have nightmares about what would've happened, if the police didn't arrive in time. Since then, our social media and messages are being very carefully monitored, and no threat is being taken lightly.
