the ballad of fire

My bones are earth
My blood is fire
My heart is full
Of unchecked desire
I feel the pull
A deep, terrible ache
To be the one
Who only takes
When the time comes
And you feel yourself in peril
Know that I'm there,
Singing you sweet carols

The fire courses through my veins
I come undone at their flames
A seed of love sprouts into a tree
And now, I can see
The truth of life
And the perils of strife
Darkness grows, and light knows

I am still here
Awaiting your hand
Awaiting your command
When the time comes 'round again
We shall be one once more

I am the fire
You are the gasoline
You ignite me
I burn you up
Consuming every inch of your soul
You beg me for just one more round
One more second
We are all but destined
To remain apart
Two separate hearts

I am the fire,
You're the water
You douse my raging flames
You always say
That I'm the one to blame

But if we could start again
Unleash the tides of pain
What could I become?
When we both can't find a way ....

I was the fire
You were the ice
You tore my power away
And I loved
Every second of it
