lies and truths

So what if I'm different
It's not that hard to be kind
But when you see me
You act as though you're superior

It's hard for me to decide
Between what I want and what I need
And yet, tonight,
When you close your eyes
You'll know I'm wondering why
Why we couldn't be as one

Life's so hard nowadays
When it tries to fuck you over
In different ways
But things aren't going to be the same
When you mock and lie and cheat

It's hard to tell you the truth
When all you do is lie
But yet, sometimes
You don't
And so I'm presented with a choice
Do you and I belong together?
As one, as friends forever?

It's hard to say which one you are
When you say one thing
Yet mean another
