karma is on our side

0 0 0

It's so captivating
The way we live, so isolating
The way they make us live
So cold, unforgiving
To live in a world so ableist and cold
My heart's made of gold
But it's been sold
By a man so bold
To think himself above it all

But the time will come
When he gets his comeuppance
When karma comes knocking
Don't leave her waiting
She's got places to go,
People to see
People like you to beat

They think it's funny to mock us
Funny to say we aren't worthy of life
That the "survival of the fjttest" is what matters most
But they'll get it, soon enough
'Cause karma works in magical ways
She hears everything you dare say
And when the time comes, just know
Our illnesses aren't a show
One day, you'll understand
That this is one minority
Anyone can join at any time

Karma works in interesting ways
She hears all you dare say
The way you treat us and how you feel
Will be what she uses to reveal
How vicious she can be when angered
By the likes of you

So next time they say we are weak
Remember this lesson, we aren't meek
We defend ourselves with venom and pride
We love ourselves in days where pain's gone by

Nothing they can say or do
Will invalidate our struggles
Or undo
The good we've done and continue to do
For the world around us
Has a lot of growing up to do
