That incident happened over a decade ago, and Kalani and Bloom had grown into beautiful young ladies since then. With hair that fell into perfect brown curls all the way down to her waist.
Grey eyes that resembled a million storms captured in one go. Her skin was a beautiful shade of brown that reminded her parents of chocolate, (which explained the ludicrous nickname). Her lips were naturally plump and tinted a faint shade of red.
Bloom now had fiery red hair with ocean blue eyes, her cheeks had a rosy tint to them, her face still had the same slim shape that it had all those years ago.
The two friends were currently sitting in Bloom's bedroom flipping through different books. Bloom read a book about fairies while Kalani read a book about the weather and the different changes in them.
"Did you know that once lightning strikes, it takes several seconds before we hear the thunder. However, thunder does not come after lightning, but instead, is caused by..." she muttered as she flipped through another page in her book.
"I will never understand your infatuation with the weather" Bloom teased as she grabbed a book from her best friends' pile and jumped on her bed with it, which obviously didn't go unnoticed by Kalani.
"Bloom! Give me back my book before you damage it!" she yelled as she put her own book face down and rushed to grab her book before any damage could be done. And with a quick huff and a brief conversation that involve Kalani threatening her friends' life, the book was finally in her grasps once again.
"The next time you take my books, I'll cut your hair into a bob." she warned as she plopped herself back onto the rug that she was laying on prior to. And for the next few minutes, they were each content reading their own books, until they weren't. And Bloom was the first to speak on it.
"I'm bored now. Wanna go somewhere else?" She asked as she got up and put on her wedged shoes, Bloom wore a blue cropped tee with yellow sleeves and dark blue bellbottom while Kalani wore a long black skirt that stopped at her ankles and had a slit on the side.
She wore a sleeveless matching shirt with a denim jacket along with the same silver locket that she'd been adopted wearing and black ankle boots. Kalani was a black clothing enthusiast- but she was up for wearing other colors.
"Sure, we've been sitting here for literal hours." Kalani got up and dusted off any debris that was on her skirt before walking out of the room, allowing Bloom to follow behind her. The two came into the living room where Mike and Vanessa were seemed to be waiting for their daughter.
"I was wondering when you'd finally leave your room." Mike teased as he sat down on the chair. "Thank you for finally getting her up and out, Kalani." Vanessa bowed her head in gratitude as the girl just shook her head with disregard "We were getting bored anyways."
"We've got a little surprise for you." Vanessa revealed as her husband quickly added "Yeah, just a little something to help you get around Gardenia." And Bloom seemed absolutely ecstatic "Really? Thanks dad!"
She ran out of the house in a rush to see her gift- and she was severely disappointed, instead of the car like they'd led her to believe they'd gotten her, it was a red bicycle with a basket in the front that held flowers.
"Nice, huh?" Mike smiled as he looked at his daughter who stood with her mouth agape as she tried to figure out a response "Uh, yeah. Thanks." She walked to her bike while Kiko followed her, and he quickly hopped into the basket and burrowed through the flowers.
"See, she doesn't even know what to say." But Mike didn't seem to understand. "I don't think that's a good thing, Mr. Mike. And it seems that she wanted something a little more... modern." and he quickly caught onto what Kalani was suggesting "You mean a scooter? But they're dangerous and they cost a bundle."
