A/N: That grief didn't hit last chapter, it's hitting now tho...
With the use of Stella's scepter, the trip back to Alfea was far shorter— even if it was still nauseating. When Kalani and Andreas' feet reached the ground, the two nearly toppled over as their stomachs churned, threatening to bring their dinner back up.
Kalani dropped to her knees as she heaved, but nothing came up, making the experience even more painful. Her eyes watered at her stomach clenched, stayed that way for a few seconds and then stopped.
The process repeated itself for five minutes, and by time it was done, Kalani was a sweaty, exhausted mess.
Her eyes welled with tears that she quickly wiped away with the back of her hand, but they just kept on coming until she was silently crying— and then she wasn't.
By the time they reached the dorms, Kalani was fighting herself in an attempt to muffle the audible sounds of her sobs, and it seemed to work as none of her friends were any wiser.
When Stella pushed open the doors, Kalani, Andreas and Bloom stepped inside, where they were met with complete darkness safe for the sliver of light shining through a window.
Upon hearing the sound of people moving around the living room, Flora came from her room and cut on the light, temporarily blinding three students as they all squinted under the harsh light.
But when she noticed Bloom and Andreas standing in the doorway, her look of confusion quickly became one of elation as she rushed to hug Bloom. But when she didn't see Kalani by them, she grew confused once more.
"Where's Lani?" She asked, looking around them for a peek of brunette curls, only to come up empty as she didn't see her. Stella, Bloom and Andreas all looked around, and only when Andreas turned around did Flora notice her friend hidden behind the white-haired boy.
"Oh! I didn't see you there." She exclaimed, rushing over to hug her friend, but when she noticed Kalani's trembling figure, along with the soft sounds of her sobs muffled by her hand, she froze.
"What's wrong?!" She asked, finally coming out of her daze. She tried to wipe Kalani's tears, but they just kept coming. She tried to explain but she couldn't get any words out. Not when her throat was constricting, making it hard to breath.
Kalani quickly began hyperventilating to the point where her head felt like it was spinning as her knees buckled underneath her, bringing her down to the ground as more tears fell from her eyes.
She sobbed loudly even as Flora tried her best to console her, only making the young girl worry even more.
"They killed her!" She cried, and even though it came out unintelligible to most ears, Flora managed to decipher what she said, even if she was still confused. "Who killed who?" She asked, gently combing her hand through Kalani's curls.
"Icy killed Andrea! She killed my mom!" That brought the room to a standstill. Musa gripped onto Tecna's arm— both of which Kalani was yet to notice— as her mouth dropped open in shock. The technology fairy wasn't any better as she stood with a hand pressed to her mouth and her eyes blown wide in disbelief.
Nobody ever believed that the Trix would take it so far and take a life, but it became apparent that that was far from the truth. "They killed my mom and then stole the power of the celestial dragon."
Her hyperventilating only grew worse as black spots danced along her vision and the room became fuzzy, no matter how hard she tried to fight it.
Her head began lolling around, suddenly becoming far heavier than it was before. Andreas rushed to join Flora on the floor and took his sister into his arms. He gently tapped at her cheek until her eyes fluttered open, but her breathing was still erratic.
