Chapter thirty-seven

"I'm a mess. I wasn't able to use to my power when I needed it most and now the entire magic dimension is in trouble." Bloom sighed as she fell back onto Flora's bed. "I wasn't able to protect my mother and now all magic is in jeopardy." 

 Tecna and Musa shared sympathetic looks while Flora gently nudged Kalani's head to lay on her shoulder, which she allowed with no resistance. "I lost my powers. I'm not a fairy anymore." Said Bloom as she got up to around the room with Kiko in her arms. 

Suddenly, Stella's ringtone sounded. She quickly answered it, but after exchanging a few words, she hung up with a ticked off look on her face. 

 Tecna got up and made her way over to the window, where she noticed a grim sight. "Hey, look!" The other five girls quickly rushed over, where they noticed the dark clouds lurking over the college. 

Lightning shone across the sky before rain began coming down. Students below in courtyard began running in search of shelter. But when a cloud of red began climbing the structure of Alfea, everyone quickly realized that what they were seeing wasn't rain. 

Small creatures began climbing the windows, startling Stella, who let out a frightened shout. Out of instinct, she blasted the window with a ball of light, sending the creatures flying, but also shattering the glass. 

Less than a second later, Palladium came rushing through the door with a serious look on his face. "Everybody let's get out of here. The school's under attack." 

Without another word, the Winx and Andreas quickly rushed out of the room. They ran all the way into the courtyard, where more of the strange creatures terrorized students. They crawled up students faces, causing them to blindly blast at whatever creatures they could. 

"This is a total invasion. We've got to fight back!" Shouted Tecna, Musa, Flora and Stella nodding in agreement. "Let's send these critters back to where they came from." Musa said as she squashed one beneath her shoe. 

Bloom and Kalani each shared a look before Kalani spoke, "Since we don't have our magic and I'm not sure how to use this scepter yet, we can help you. But Andreas'll be sure to squash a few critters for me." She offered a sheepish smile, which was quickly returned. 

Afterwards, the Stella, Tecna, Flora and Musa were bathed in a bright light, and once it died down, they were in their fairy forms. 

The girls along with Andreas quickly separated to try and fend off the creatures on their own. Using her scepter, Stella sent a strong blast of light towards the critters, exterminating creatures and making a clear path as it traveled farther. 

Musa created a disco ball before she allowed it to hover over the creatures, blasting them with smaller blasts of magic that fell from the sphere. 

Flora, who hovered above the ground to avoid the creatures, sent a blast of magic to the ground, creating a plant that trapped a mountain of bugs preparing to attack a student, then returned to the ground, taking the bugs with it. 

Meanwhile, with Bloom and Kalani, the bugs managed to get a hold of Kiko and began dragging him with their pincers, causing the rabbit to let out a shrill screech. 

Bloom and Kalani quickly took notice with the former delivering a swift kick to the bugs, freeing her rabbit. "I may not have my magic, but I still know how to defend my friends." Bloom hugged her bunny in elation. 

But the happy moment was quickly ruined as a huge monster suddenly appeared behind the trio. And without a second thought, they ran. 

The monster was relentless as it chased them into a dead end. Kalani acted quickly, summoning her scepter before delivering a hard hit towards the monster, but that only made it angrier if at all possible.
