After they finished shopping, Bloom decided to call her mother using a pay phone as her own wasn't working in the new realm. Meanwhile, the other six girls sat on the edge of a fountain while waiting for her.
The girls were sitting in a comfortable silence until one girl decided to break the silence— Flora maybe. She'd gotten closer to Kalani than anyone else in the short time that they've all known each other.
"Kalani what was your home like before coming here?" And to put it plainly, that question caught the young fairy off guard completely. But she responded politely none the less, "My parents are some of the nicest people I've ever known. And they never treated me any different given the fact that she was my biological mother's sister, she even adopted me after her death."
"But I recently learned that headmistress Faragonda taught my mother. Apparently, she died during an attack on our home planet. I also learned that she was a rather influential person, Headmistress Faragonda even gave me a place to start looking."
A few of the girls gave low toned cheers while others settled for clapping their hands. But all in all, they were happy for her. Musa and Flora even went so far as to give Kalani a warm hug, which she appreciated.
"So, what'd Faragonda tell you?" Stella asked as she raked a hand through her blonde hair. "Nothing besides that fact that she attended Alfea when she was my age and that I reminded her of my mother."
"Did she give you a name? I mean it wouldn't really make any sense if she didn't." Musa mused as she rested her head against Tecna's shoulder. "My mother's name was Illiyana." Which earned some confused stares from the small group.
"As in Illiyana, the same woman who was raised as a commoner and managed to marry into one of the most powerful families in the dimension? The same woman who ruled one of the most successful kingdoms alongside Alastor, who was one of the most powerful mages in the known universe? That's your biological mother?!" Tecna exclaimed as she pulled out a mini holographic projector.
"Queen Illiyana and King Alastor, rulers of the planet formerly known as Metis, known as the domain of life. Home to creatures that wield great power such as the Axoria, the Tetriziniu, the lunar phoenix and the mythical Ivory dragon."
Tecna seemed shocked that one of their new friends was the princess of a kingdom that was wiped off of all maps in of the magic universe. "Are you sure that you've got the right Illiyana? There could be multiple women with that name after all." It seemed that everyone had already came to terms with the fact that Kalani was princess except for Kalani herself.
"Yup. While you were hugging Flora, I did a facial scan to see if there was anyone else with some of the same features as you. You look just like your mother, Iliyana. It's undeniable."
"But that's not enough to declare me a princess. I've met multiple people with grey eyes. That doesn't mean that we're related." But Musa seemed more that convinced when it came to the matter.
"Lani, it's ok to be in denial. But we both know that Tecna's right. I mean, she's a walking computer after all." Which resulted in Tecna yelling a short hey at her. "Aside from what Musa said, I don't think it's simply a coincidence that you look just like a queen who Faragonda says is your mother."
"Your grey eyes are a trait from your mother, who was said to have eyes that held a thousand storms." Tecna then pulled up a picture of a woman addressing the public. She had beautiful dark skin and brown curls that fell down her back in tight spirals.
And she had the exact same grey eyes as Kalani. It was looking in a mirror, except what she was staring at was an older version of herself. "That was Queen Illiyana of Metis addressing the rumors that the royal family remained idle while their armies fought a war. "
