Carter's POV
Everyone that is capable of fighting starts to shift instantly, and the rest of the pack is ushered towards the safe room.
I shift, and I look around at all the warriors that wait on my order.
"Alright half of you stay here, and half of you will go with me to see what's going on." I say, thought the mind link that works just when we want to communicate with each other as the wolves.
I take the lead and they all follow after me, we reach the pack border without the sight of any attack, or the sight of any of our warriors that should be here, especially since they just howled for us from here.
I sniff the air, and I let out a sigh of relief when I smell their trait that goes beyond the border.
They probably saw a group of rouges, and they most likely have decided to chase it, and it led them towards the rouge pack that outnumbered them, and now they will need our help.
That happened more times than I can count, and I'm disappointed because it seems that they will never learn from their mistakes, at least not the young warriors.
We reach them quickly, and I look around, I was right, there's five of my young warriors, fighting for their lives against around twenty rouges.
"What the hell are you all doing here?" I ask angrily, helping them finish the rouges.
"We just wanted to kill a few of them Alpha." The leader of this patrol group exclaims, pointing towards the dead rouges, before bowing his head in shame.
"And how many times does the same thing have to happen, for all of you to understand that it's a bad idea to do so?" I ask, disappointed, and no one answers so I continue.
"Your job is to stay in the pack borders, and make sure that there are no rouges wondering around the pack, not chasing rouges way beyond the pack lands." I say.
"I'm not my father, he got bored of being an Alpha a long time ago, so he jsut let you do whatever you wish to do, but this ends now, another case like this, and you're going to the saferoom with kids instead of fighting with me, or patrolling the pack grounds." I finish my speech.
"Does everyone get it." I ask when no one says anything, before looking around at all the warriors with their head bowed.
"Yes, Alpha." They all confirm.
I lead them all back to the pack house, and I go to retrieve Timmy, and Mason form the safe room.
I greet them, and I take them both to our apartment, where I make them watch the TV to calm down, while I wash myself in the shower to get rid of the blood.
When I'm done, I decide to make us some food, since the nerves probably made Timmy hungry, as they usually do.
I hate to leave Timmy, when I have to go, and take care of the attacks, I know that he worries too much about me when I'm gone, but I can't take him with me, since he won't survive long in the middle of an attack, and I can't allow myself to be distracted by wondering if he's safe.
That would not have ended well at all.
