Carter's POV

It's just another time that an alarm wakes me, it's ringing in the whole pack house, and I already have enough of it.

It's about fifth time, I wonder if the Alpha of that stupid girl's pack has nothing to do, other than bother me for not going along with some stupid deal.

Literally, some people will stay stupid, they should realise that they're losing a huge number of people each time they attack, while we barely lose anyone at all.

I have no idea how stupid the Alpha of that pack has to be to not realise that.

"Again?" Timmy asks, and I nod, annoyed that I had to wake up again.

"Unfortunately." I say, before getting out of the bed, and I opening the door for Mason, who starts to knock on it.

"Let's get you to the safe room quickly." I say, taking Mason in my arms, and I motion for Timmy to follow me.

I leave them with the warriors that stay to defend the saferoom, and I go out into the woods yet again, already bored with all this attacks.

I shift before I reach the tree line, and I run towards the attack, making sure that enough of warriors are already there.

As an Alpha, I'm not supposed to fight alone, I'm supposed to have enough people to handle the attack, at leas for long enough to give me chance to escape if we are losing.

It's because there are not many Alphas, and one Alpha can't have too many people under them, so the pack members usually sacrifice themselves if a pack is losing an attack with no hope to win.

The Alpha is supposed to inform the guards to open the safe room, so the people that are locked there might have a chance to survive.

The people should run away in small groups, while the Alpha should running away as fast as he can.

Usually not many of the untrained pack members survive without the pack, but the Alpha should come back to try, and find them when he thinks that it's safe.

The Alpha is supposed to make a new pack, that he will lead to not waste the sense of leadership that is very uncommon, and getting even more rare with each generation.

The sense of leadership is only given to the heir of an Alpha that possesses it, at the Alpha coronation.

There were only one hundred people that the Moon Goddess gifted this sense, it was thousands of years ago, when the werewolves were created by her.

And now only around half of then remains, so it's very important for the Alphas to have a heir to pass this sense to.

The normal ranked wolves usually live for one hundred years, but we stop aging after twenty five.

Anyway, as I reach the attack, I see that it's already taken care off, and when I look at the bodies, it seems that no one from my pack has died.

I sniff the air to make sure that there aren't more wolves coming, and when I'm sure that it's safe, I leave the warriors to take care of the attack by themselves.
