Carter's POV

To my disappointment, the battle takes a lot more time than I was prepared to spend out here.

We were meant to be here for about three weeks.

First problem, that made it longer, was discovered when we were only half way to our destination.

When we were running, we almost run into a group of hunters.

Hunters are humans that somehow discovered our existence, and has decided to kill us all, to protect the rest of humans.

That, or they were hired by hunters, and they have never even saw a wolf in real life, let alone a werewolf.

So, we had to kill them, not wanting to risk them finding our pack later on, and that extended the time of our travel for two days, since we had to plan it well, and we had to be prepared to take care of the bullet wounds, that we were sure that we will get.

Then, a day later, we smelled a big pack of rouges, and before we were able to run away from them, they came running towards us, forcing us to fight.

A lot of the warriors got wounded, and we had to wait a day for all the injuries to heal.

So, in the end we spend eight days instead of five for travel.

Then, when we reached our destination, we got discovered before we were able to make a surprise attack that was a part of our original plan.

That made us have to change the plan, which led to a lot of delay.

And, the third week just passed, which means that Timmy will be giving birth soon, and the battle isn't even close to being over, also it will take almost a week to go back, without any delays.

So, that means that I most likely won't be able to be there for the birth of my daughter, and Timmy will have to go through it on his own.

It's because of some stupid laws that says that any child that wasn't born in the mating room, with both the parents locked inside, won't be eligible for the Alpha position.

We already know that we have a daughter, so at least I don't feel very bad, knowing that she wouldn't be an Alpha anyway, but that doesn't mean that they won't lock Timmy alone in a room to give birth alone, for about a week.

And to make the matter worse, he thinks that it will happen in the hospital, since the Doctor said something like that, and I thought that it will be better to let him think that, until the time is right, so he won't stress himself and the baby.

"I will miss the birth of my daughter." I tell Harvey, we are currently resting in the clearing not far from the battle field, while another team takes our place there.

"That's not very good." He says, and I nod in agreement.

"That's really not good. Is there any chance that we can get it done quicker?" I ask hopefully.

"I don't think so, we have to take them out before we go back." He tells me what I already know.

I sigh dramatically, and we get ready to fight again.
