Carter's POV
"Why were you looking for Mason? He's right here." I say, before turning around to look at the spot where he was sitting, a few minutes ago.
He's not there anymore, I take a sniff and I try to ignore the fact that Timmy smells like that bastard, Joseph.
I concentrate on the smell of my son, and when I find it, I quickly realise that Mason had already gone deep into the woods, and I shift, before taking off quicker than I can think.
I leave Timmy behind, knowing that my friends will protect him if there will be a need for that.
I run through the woods, as fast as I can, I jump over the branches, and I pass all the trees on my way, before finally I can see Mason.
He's alone, I quickly take a sniff to make sure that we're alone, and when I'm sure that we are, I shift back, before going to pick him up.
He doesn't look scared, he looks curious, and he smiles at me, hugging my naked body, so I sigh in relief.
"What are you doing here all alone Mase?" I ask the toddler.
"I explore." He says, clearly enough for me to understand.
"Well, how about next time you want to explore, you will tell me before you walk off by yourself?" I ask, faking excitement.
I don't want him to know that I was nervous since this will make him feel bad, and I don't want him to know that I'm a bit angry at him neither.
So, faking excitement, to encourage him to tell me next time, is the best option.
And it works, he nods excitedly as I start to make my way towards the pack house with him in my arms.
When we reach it, Mason runs towards us, and he hugs the both of us tightly.
One of my friends takes his jacket off, before he gives it to me, so I can cover myself.
I lead Timmy to our apartment, deciding that we already had enough adventures for today.
When we're safely inside our apartment, I take Mason and I go to his bedroom to put him to sleep.
I manage to do it quickly, so I go back to the living room, and I'm greeted by Timmy who has a with a bowl of fruits, and he gives it to me.
I accept it, and I sit beside Timmy, on the couch, before turning to face him.
"I'm quite upset with you right now, Timmy." I inform, making him widen his eyes in surprise.
"Why?" He asks, looking at me.
"Because you know that you shouldn't go into the woods, alone, especially now. You should have just told me that Mason was missing, so I could have found him as soon as possible. What if something happened to him, in the time that you were looking for him?" I ask.
"Sorry." He says sadly, and I hav to remind myself that it's not the moment for hugs now.
After were done with this conversation, then I will huge the hell out of him, but for now I have to be stern.
"Why do you smell like Joseph?" I ask when the smell riches my nose again.
