Timmy's POV
My birthday party was great, a week late, but that doesn't make it any less great.
The evening is just coming to an end, so Carter and I decide that it's time for us to go, because we should put Mason to sleep.
I look around, trying to spot Mason, so I can pick him up, but I can't find him anywhere around here.
I start to search a little further, going a little into the woods, Carter doesn't seem to notice, he's still talking to his friends, so instead of disturbing him, I will just find him myself.
I look around, remembering not to go too deep into the woods, and I try to use my sense of smell, but it's too weak to be useful.
After a few minutes I feel a hand on my shoulder, I jump in surprise, and I turn around to see Joseph, one of Carter's former friends.
He's supposed to be in cellars, so I have no idea why he is here right now.
I consider if I should run, or stay and see what he wants, I decide to run, but before I can even take off, he grabs my arm, and he forces me to stay beside him.
"What do you want from me?" I ask him, wincing as my hand starts to ache because of his tight grip.
"Listen, my friends and I didn't know that you're Carter's mate, and I know that we shouldn't have blamed you for what we did.
I'm sorry for that, I just want to ask, if you could maybe convince Carter to let us go, and it would be great if you could keep to yourself the fact that you talked to me.
I'm not really supposed to be here as you most likely know." He tells me.
"There's no changing his mind about it, even if I would want to." I say, but I regret it instantly when the grip on my arm gets more painful.
"Just go back to the cellars, and I will see if I can do anything." I tell him.
He smiles, before letting go of my hand, and I instantly take few steps back from him.
"Just convince him to let us leave the pack, if you can't do anymore, that's all I'm asking for." He says, and I nod, not really intending to do this, but he definitely doesn't have to know this.
He looks at me for a while longer, before turning around to go back towards the cellars.
I wonder how he got out, I should inform Carter of it as soon as I can, so he can make sure it doesn't happen again.
I quickly turn back, and I go towards the pack house, forgetting why I even came here.
When I reach the backyard, I'm met with Carter, and few of his friends, he looks relieved to see me.
I go to him, and I hug him tightly, he hugs me back, before he forces me to let go, so he can look me over.
"Where did you go? I didn't even notice that you were missing, you should have told me that you were going somewhere. " He says worriedly, probably smelling Joseph on me.
"I was looking for Mason." I tell him reminding myself why I even went out there.
