..

..

Hope's Peak Academy. With heavy footsteps, you approached the gates of the elite school, your heart pounding as you got closer. They said that if you graduated from Hope's Peak, you would be guaranteed a successful life.

The only catch? You had to be an Ultimate. The best at what you do in Highschool. You? You were Y/n Y/l/n, the Ultimate Poet.

Hope's Peak was infamous for its past graduates. Most of the most famous people in Japan graduated from here, and you happened to be accepted.

The Ultimate Poet... what kind of talent is that? Most people saw poetry as words on paper or a computer screen, but you saw it differently.

Poetry wasn't about the words. It was about the meaning of them, and how the meaning makes the reader of it feel. It didn't matter if simple words like the sky or sat were used. It didn't matter if larger words like atmosphere and retreat were used.

It mattered what the meaning of the words was.

People called you crazy when you told them how you saw it, most of them brushing it off and saying you just had a way with words. You didn't have a way with them, necessarily. You just knew how to get the meaning of them out there.

You were hoping to spread that feeling of poetry after you graduated from Hope's Peak. You wanted to spread the poems you wrote and get people to understand and relate to their meanings instead of just seeing them as words on paper.

They were so much more than that.

Hopefully, this school would help you to accomplish that.

You stepped inside the gates of the campus, letting out a shaky breath. Of all the places you could be right now... You never thought that you'd be...

A sudden wave of unease washed over you. Just the nerves... But, soon after, a screeching sound rang throughout your mind and you let out a struggling cry of pain.

What was this? This wasn't at all what your experience was supposed to feel like. All of a sudden, you wished you were anywhere else but Hope's Peak.

Another wave of the horrendous screeching sound rang out and you dropped the cellphone you had held in your hand. Your hand shot up to your head, pressing on the top of it in hopes to ease the pain.

Another wave and you were on your knees with cries of agony. One question swirled throughout your mind. What was this?

Just a few moments ago, you were perfectly fine.

You gasped in an attempt to regain your breath as your eyes fell shut. No... You had to stay conscious. You had no clue what was happening.

But, your efforts of keeping your consciousness fell short of effective, and you slumped the rest of your body to the pavement in exhaustion.

What was... happening...?

And a moment later, your efforts proved useless as your consciousness slowly slipped away from your grasp.
