"Listen!" Byakuya sternly hissed. "So long as we're here. I will not let any of you die! I will not let any of you become a victim! And that goes for you too, Fuyuhiko. I won't let you die!"
Fuyuhiko's face twisted in disbelief. "Wh-what!? Everything you're saying... It's just empty promises!"
Byakuya crossed his arms and chuckled. "I could say the same with your vow to Y/n. But I am Byakuya Togami and I am to destined to bring these promises to fruition!"
Oh, how assuring...
Fuyuhiko stared at Byakuya with wide eyes for a short moment, soon huffing as he crossed his own arms and looked away.
"Yowza!" Ibuki exclaimed. "He's sooo cool!"
"Mhmhmmmm, I agree!" Teruteru nodded.
Fuyuhiko rolled his eyes, turning his back towards the assumed leader. "Heh, I don't care what you say. I'm just gonna do whatever I feel like..."
"Do what you will," the leader shrugged. "But remember what I said earlier. I will not let any of you become a victim. That is the duty I have appointed myself."
The shorter of the two blondes shook his head with a quiet tch.
It seemed as if the situation had been resolved for the moment. But there was still a question ringing in the back of your mind. Did he mean what he said? Would he actually kill someone? You wouldn't be surprised due to his short temper. But if he meant it... you would have to go for Sonia soon.
"Um..." Monokuma chimed, and everyone shifted their gaze to him. The bear had just appeared, now dressed in a blue coat and red tie.
Hajime couldn't get any words out of his mouth, still trying to finish the first syllable of what.
Monokuma stood there blankly. "It looked like you guys were arguing, so I wasn't sure when to actually show up... It looks like I showed up at an awkward time!"
No one answered, so Chiaki tilted her head. "Why are you dressed like that?"
"Oh, didn't I mention it in my recent broadcast? It's my costume for the fun time!" He explained.
Peko screwed her face up with worry. "Oh, don't tell me you're going to..."
"That's right!" The bear confirmed.
Oh no...
"Since we're on a tropical island, I'm here to do my two-man comedy routine!"
"Wh-Why does it matter that we're on a tropical island!?" Mikan cried.
Sonia tilted her head. "But, can you do a two-man comedy routine by yourself?"
"Of course not. That's why I brought my partner!" Monokuma cheered.
Suddenly, Monomi was summoned beside him, wearing a rather embarrassing pink dress. "Ha-wa-wa! What is this!?"
"Hmm... That figures," You hummed.
Monokuma mockingly bowed. "Now then, without further ado, I am pleased to present, Monokuma's Side-Splitting Live Two-Man Comedy Show!"
"Huh?" Monomi hummed, clearly in a panic. "I never heard anything about this! Are you telling me I have to improvise!?"
Gundham stuffed his nose into his scarf. "...I'm speechless..."
Monokuma dragged Monomi to the stage before speaking into the microphone. "Hellooo! I'm Monokuma!"
"Um..." Monomi seemed as if she was at a loss for what to say. "... I'm Monomi..."
"And together, we are the Monokumas!"
Oh... How creative...
Monokuma chuckled. "Now, I know it's sudden, but I guess I should show you guys my amazing mind-reading abilities!"
Monomi's gaze shot to him as she gasped. "Eh!? You can read minds!?"
Monokuma nodded. "As practice, I'll guess your favourite food! Hm... Your favourite food is..."
"You can do it! It's obvious what rabbits like!"
"Ca... "
"That's right!"
"...davers."
Monomi let out a horrified gasp. "I'd ever eat a dead body!"
Monokuma ignored her response and shook his head. "Now then, Monomi's up next! Come on, do a short skit or something."
"Wh-what!? There's no way I can do that!" The pink toy protested, stepping back. The bear shurgged, almost like it didn't matter. "No worries, it's all good. I know a technique to summon the god of comedy. Sooo, which one do you think is better? Taking blood while you're still alive, or after you're already dead?"
"Why would you act such a cruel question!?" She cried.
"If I'm gonna summon the Comedeity, then I'll need a lot of blood."
Monomi lowered her head. "So a god of comedy wants blood..."
"Hngh! Pretty please!?" He begged.
"No matter how charmingly you may ask, I'll never let you take my blood!"
Did Monomi even have blood? This whole comedy show thing is stupid...
"You're always so quick to make a scary face, Monomi. You guys should be careful, too. Ya know, since Monomi's actually a bad guy. She's as bad as the first villain a hero fights in a teen manga!"
"They're always the underdog!""Believe me, it's a fact that Monomi's a villain. I'll let you all in on a little secret of hers... Monomi... went out of her way to erase your memories!"
"Say what!?" Monomi exclaimed.
Your eyes widened, staring at the pink rabbit in disbelief. Was that true? How many had she erased? Had you already met everyone and just forgot them? What had been happening at home? Your old school? Your friends? Your brother, was he alright? You didn't care much for your parents, but were they still alive?
"You guys don't even remember how you got to this island, am I right?" Monokuma asked. "Well that's because Monomi stole your memories!"
"Wh-what are you saying all of a sudden!?""But wait, there's more! She didn't just steal your boring memories, like how you got to this island. She completely took away your memories of the years you spent at Hope's Peak Academy! What a shocker!"
You couldn't stop yourself from letting out a gasp, stepping back and nearly tripping over the root of a tree in shock. You luckily caught yourself, steadying your body as you breathed heavily. So, you had met everyone here already... Was that why a few of these people felt so familiar? Ibuki... Kazuichi... Fuyuhiko... You felt like you had been close to them before but... now, it was proven.
"Ha-wa-wa!"
"Phew!" Monokuma huffed. "I feel great now that I've shared that with you! Seriously, memory loss plots are so old hat nowadays... Only a total hack would wait till the end of the story to reveal a cliched twist like that!"
"Please, stop!" Monomi cried.
"Puhuhu... wasn't that a huge surprise? In truth, you guys aren't freshmen students at all. You guys just thought you were because you lost all your school memories! Quick, someone get a plagiarist because I feel like I've heard this story before!"
"S-seriously! This is bad in so many ways!"
Yeah, no shit... She stole your highschool memories...
And in a swift movement, Monomi was on the floor of the stage.
"I'm through dealing with you!" Monokuma hissed.
"Ah! His backhand is far too powerful!"
Looking around, you noticed everyone was frozen in shock.
"...Huh?" Hajime breathed.
Nagito lowered his head. "W-what did he mean...?"
