You followed Kazuichi to the ruins, your arms crossed as you gazed at him. He was still rubbing the side of his head.
It's not like you didn't feel guilty for hurting him, but now that Teruteru and Byakuya are both dead, you had to find out where Nagito was. No matter how insane he may be, everyone has to stick together.
And though you knew you would never admit that, and you knew no one was going to make it off of this island alive, it was worth a try."Sorry," you mumbled.
Kazuichi huffed, glancing at you over his shoulder for a quick second.
And without an nser, you assumed that was an "I don't forgive you".It didn't surprise you. After all, you did slam his head against a wall.
When you arrived at the old ruins, Nekomaru was the first to speak. "What the heck is this...? Such a gigantic building."
Sonia, being her cloudy self, stated the obvious. "However, it clearly looks faded. It looks like an ancient ruin.""It seems..." Peko crossed her arms. "Perhaps this is an actual ancient ruin?"
You hummed, gazing up at the ruined building. ANd then it clicked.
The walls, the windows, even the shape f it entirely. It one-hundred percent resembled Hope's Peak in every way.
"Hey, you know what's really starting to freak me out here, guys?" You asked, and everyone shifted their gaze to you. "This... This looks an awful lot like Hope's Peak, don't ya think?"
No one said a word until Fuyuhiko broke the silence. "Heh.. Last I fuckin' checked, Hope's Peak Academy wasn't on a damn island."Your eyes narrowed, and you swivelled around to snap at him but Kazuichi cleared his throat instead. "You found something, right Chiaki? What did you find?"
"I'll fucking cut you if this is a waste of time," Fuyuhiko threatened.
Mahiru sighed, placing a hand on her hip. "I didn't realize you were here..."Fuyuhiko crossed his arms, nodding his head toward Chiaki. "That bitch over there kept bugging me... So I finally came."
God, it took everything in your soul not to make a perverted joke about that.
"Did you maybe find a way to get off the island?" Ibuki happily asked.
"Nope," The gamer responded in a monotone voice. "Nothing like that."
Hiyoko groaned, throwing her head back. "Aww, then who cares? I should've played in the bath with Mahiru more!"
"Then what in the world did you find?" Gundham inquired.
Chiaki didn't answer, and she looked as if she was struggling to hold her eyes open before Hajime approached her. "Hey, Chiaki, what did you find? If it's not a way off of this island, does it have something to do with this island's secret?"
The gamer pulled her hood over her head, looking at her feet. "About that... I don't know."
Peko swivelled around to look at Chiaki, and it was clear that she was trying to hide her alarm. "What do you mean... you don't know?""It's like it doesn't belong with a building like this," Chiaki continued. "I keep thinking about it and it feels unnatural. It's like... A comic book originally about baseball becoming a side-scrolling action game. It's unnatural like that."
"Well, what the hell is it?" You asked.
Chiaki narrowed her eyes, gesturing away from the group. "Look. That door over there."
And sure enough, toward the area she gestured to, there was a metal door that seemed extremely out of place. You hummed, narrowing your own eyes. "That metal door?"
Chiaki nodded. "Yeah. It looks like that's the door to the ruin."
Mahiru raised a hand and tilted her head. "So what's wrong with this door? Can you go inside?"
"Before we attempt to go inside," Chiaki began. "Let's try brushing off some of the dust, and clearing some of these root things off the door. If you do, I'm pretty sure you'll understand what I mean by, unnatural."
"I don't really understand, but i guess we should try what she says," Kazuichi huffed.
And after it was all cleared away, everyone stared at it in concern. It didn't look like it belonged in an ancient ruin at all, more like a sci-fi movie!
"Hey, what's this symbol?" You asked, pointing at a symbol on the metal door.
Hajime tilted his head. "It looks Japanese..."
"U-um..." Mikan stuttered. "I-I think t's Mirai or F-future..."
"Hey!!" Fuyuhiko snapped, clenching his fist. "Who cares about a symbol on the door!? More importantly, how do you open it? What's inside?"
Mahiru leaned forward. "Well, it looks like there's a liquid crystal display next to the door... could the two be related?"
Fuyuhiko perked up. "Oh right! That must be the key to open the door! It's probably set to open when you type the password."
"Well no shit, sherlock," you seethed, your voice laced in annoyance.
Fuyuhiko opened his mouth to say something else, but Hiyoko cut him off. "Acting all high and mighty... so what's next? It's obviously impossible to put in the password without any hints. Ah, are you saying no one but a yakuza clan person can open it? That hilarious! Kyahahaah!"The yakuza huffed, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Sh-shut up... if we just type whatever, we might get it right-"
"Yeah," You smiled. "If there were only two possible passwords in the universe, that might work. But there's not. The password could be one of a million different things. So, get your head outta your ass, yeah?"
He opened his mouth to say something, but you continued. "Oh shit, sorry..." You hummed. "I forgot. You can't find your own ass with two hands and a map, my bad."
All he could do was stare at you with furrowed brows.
"Y/n's right, we should wait," Chiaki agreed.
You sighed, turning around and fiddling with the walls."Hey, the fuck are you doing?" Fuyuhiko asked.
"Checking for weak spots in the walls. A building as old as this has to have a weak spot in the walls somewhere- shit!" You gasped as you sat up from the ground, clutching your knee.
Fuyuhiko lurched forward, reaching for your bleeding knee. "Hey, let me see-""No," You swatted him away, standing on you own. "I'm gonna go back to the cottage and fix it up myself, okay? Fuck off."
Everyone stared at you.
"What?"
"Nothing," Chiaki replied, and Fuyuhiko couldn't muster a word as you stumbled away.
