"Okay, okay.... Yes!" Letting out a cheer, you wrapped your hand around a glass bottle and pulled it out of the drawer, examining it closely.
This beauty of a bottle had been stashed away in the office, which you had locked everyone out of in order to get away from Peko. And after looking around furiously for what seemed to be forever, you had found what you need.
The bottle of alcohol was in one of the drawers of the filing cabinet. You had just barely been able to reach it, given your short height of five feet. But, you somehow managed to gab the bottle and slam the drawer shut with excitement as you read the label.
Jack Daniels
Whiskey
That was all you had to know before tearing away the plastic that was plastered onto the top and pulling the cork out of the bottle with a satisfying pop.
You had never tried whiskey before, and especially not Jack Daniels. You usually went for wine, or even beer. Whiskey was new for you.
But nonetheless, you put the bottle to your lips and tilt your head back, ignoring the slight burn of the drink as it slipped down your throat.
Letting out a sigh, you lowered the bottle, closing your eyes as you hummed a quiet tune.
And with that, you flopped down in the seat at the desk, propping your feet up onto the wood.
"Hey!" A voice shouted from the other side of the door, met with pounding on the metal as the girl spoke. Mahiru.
"What?" You groaned and Mahiru huffed from outside. "Get your ass out here! Byakuya and Hajime are back!"
You sighed, standing up and gripping the bottle firmly. "Alright, alright, I'm coming."
The door unlocked with a click, ad you pushed it open, met with a disapproving glare from everyone as they saw what was in your hand.
"Seriously?" Mahiru huffed.
You offered her a sly grin, waving around the bottle and taking another sip. "What? I'm not going through this thing sober. I thought this was a party?"
Peko shook her head. "Young Master said for you not to have any alcohol."
"Well," You smiled. "Young Master needs to get that stick out of his ass."
"Hey!" Akane groaned, placing a hand on her hip. "Let's eat already, I'm starvin'!"
Byakuya crossed his arms. "There's still an issue we need to address first."
Akane knitted her brows. "Eh? An issue? Who do I gotta beat the crap outta? Just say the word, I'll do it for ya!"
"That won't be necessary..." He mumbled as he grabbed a box and set it down in front of him. "The issue is where to safegaurd this duralumin case that has all the confiscated dangerous items."
"Eh..." Kazuichi scratched his chin for a second. "Can't we just leave it here?"
"I've already put a lock on the case, so it shouldn't be a problem, but... we should definitely up the security and keep it some place safe."
Sonia perked up. "Oh, there's a storage room in the back of this old building!"
Byakuya seemed to consider it for a moment for a moment before shaking his head. "A storage room, huh? Even so, we can't leave it alone in there."
"Then someone should guard it," Peko hummed. "That would keep it safe, yes?"
Hiyoko puckered her face. "Eh? Who? Who?"
Peko crossed her arms. "... Y/n and I will do it, of course."
Ibuki gasped. "OH!? But Y/n is drunk!!"
You scoffed. "I'm not drunk yet. .... yet."
Nagito nodded. "Ibuki's right. Y/n's not cut out for that."
"Fine. I'll do it by myself," Peko announced.
Mikan pressed her fingertips together. "Eh? Are you sure...? I guess... if you insist... Just kidding....!"
Ibuki scratched her head. "But, it'll be lonely there by yourself."
Peko nodded. "I don't mind. I'm really not that good in situations where I have to be around lots of people anyway."
"Nahaha!" Ibuki giggled. "If I wrote a song about this, the title would definitely be Lonely Girl in the Storage Room!"
"However, Teruteru has gone to the trouble of cooking..." The swordswoman began. "Is it alright for me to bring some of it with me?"
"Yeah!" The chef cheered. "That's totally fine!"
Nagito rested his chin in his palm. "But... if you're going to do guard duty anyway, it might be better to avoid the storage room."
"Eh? " Hajime replied. "Why is that?"
"Well, not only is there-"
"Long story short," you cut him off, taking another sip of your drink. "It's totally disgusting in there, Pekoyama."
Byakuya hummed in agreement. "In that case, why don't you guard it in the office? If I recall correctly, there's also a circuit breaker in there, too. It'd be a good idea to guard that as well."
You perked up, knitting your brows. "What? No! Anywhere but the office. What if I need a new bottle?"
Peko sighed. "I think it's best to keep you away from anymore alcohol than that tonight."
"Fuck you, Pekoyama," you scoffed, pressing the bottle to your lips.
"The office sounds nice!" Nagito smiled. "I'm sure it's not dirty either."
"Understood," Peko announced. "So I need to be on guard duty in the office. Then, I should get going. Have fun tonight, everyone."
And with that final sentence, she walked away, taking the duralumin case and a plate of food with her.
And while everyone began to converse further, you slipped your way out of the room as well. Only, you slipped out of the front doors, finding yourself stumbling along the path of the pavement outside.
