As you solemnly followed Fuyuhiko down the path to Jabberwock Park, you had begun to get used to the feeling of bandage around your knee.

"Thanks," you mumbled.

Fuyuhiko didn't respond. He only let out a low huff and stuffed his hands into his pockets.

It wasn't out of character for him or anything, so you weren't surprised as you hummed. "For what it's worth, I'm not necessarily mad at you specifically."

"Then what the hell are you upset about?" He grumbled. "I made the right call."

"And I'm not saying you didn't.... Actually, that's a lie," You sighed. "That's exactly what I'm saying. You shouldn't have done it, but I'm just upset that you didn't trust me enough to tell me."

No answer.

Yours and Fuyuhiko's footsteps were the only sounds you could hear other than the distant hoot of an owl.

You lowered your head. "Fuyuhiko?"

"What?"

"Do you trust me?"

Fuyuhiko slowed to a stop, and you stood beside him as he sighed. "I...."

Lifting your head, your eyes shifted to him and his own shifted to you.

"... I... I can't answer that he way you want me to."

"It's a simple question," you spoke. "Do you trust me or not?"

Fuyuhiko shook his head, running a hand across the buzz of his hair. "I know, dumbass, and I told you already that I can't answer that the way you want me to."

"I just want you to choose, Fuyuhiko. Trust, or no trust?"

"For the third time, I can't answer that in the way that you-"

"Trust, or no trust!?-"

"No trust, dammit! I don't fucking trust you!" He snapped, stepping closer to you and looking you in the eye.

You sucked in a breath, holding it as your eyelids fluttered. Fuyuhiko's frustrated an angry expression soon morphed into one of realization before he took a step back.

"I told you..." He sighed. "I can't answer that bullshit question the way you wanted me to..."

"Good to know..." You mumbled.

Now that you thought about it, there wasn't much you could think of that you had done for him. You tried to kill Sonia, avoided him, hated him, called him names, then kissed him and said he'd make a great distraction. On top of all of it, you push him away any time you're upset.

And yet, he's out here sticking his neck out for you.

You hadn't done much to gain his trust...

"YAHOO! I'm the first one here! The curry's all mine!" Akane's voice rang out from in the distance.

You tore your eyes away from Fuyuhiko's and began walking. "We should... We should head over there."

"Yeah..."

By the time you and Fuyuhiko arrived at the park, everyone was already there.

Ibuki had her hands together and was thinking quite intensely. "What's the scientific term for when you get hungry after hearing the word curry?"

Fuyuhiko crossed his arms with a scoff. "You guys are fucking stupid... Don't get so worked up over something so idiotic..." It didn't take long for him to look around and clench his fist. "Hey, where the hell is Monokuma!? Get out here!"

"Okie-dokie! Thanks for waiting! Thanks for the miracle of waiting!"

"Hey, Monokuma!" Akane addressed the bear, hitting her fist into her palm. "I was the first one here! I got dibs on the curry!"

"No need to rush, no need to rush!" The bear hummed. "I'll properly treat you to my special-made Monokuma Curry tomorrow night!"

Hajime narrowed his eyes. "M-Monokuma Curry...?"

"Yeah, sounds sketchy," you added. "Especially coming from the bear that kidnapped us all!"

"Oh, you hurt me!" Monokuma whined. "It's really good!"

"No worries!" Ibuki announced. "It takes skill to make curry nasty!"

Gundham chuckled. "That is truly a nice line... but it is meaningless. Now Monokuma... Let us hear what your business is."

"Huh? Huh?" Monokuma gasped. "You haven't noticed yet? The reason why I summoned you guys... If you look closely at this park, you should be able to notice."

"Ah!" A gasp was heard and everyone looked to see Chiaki, crouching in front of a machine. "Isn't this an arcade machine?" She asked.

"Puhuhuhu... Thaaaaaaaaaaaaat's correct! Soooooooooooo, I would like this long-awaited recreation time to begin!"

Hajime sighed. "Don't tell me... you're going to tell us to play this game?"

Chiaki stood up straight. "Hey, what's the game? What games are on this?"

Monokuma shrugged. "I've only prepared one game, but...It's truly a gem. After all, it's a game that I personally created!"

Sonia tilted her head slightly. "Then... it's not something I could possibly look forward to playing."

"No, no!" Monokuma chimed. "Don't compare it to those amateur fanservice games! You know that famous game that everyone's been waiting for a sequel to? Well, i made a brand-new game instead!"

"Famous game...?" You hummed.

"Now then, I shall present it!" And so, he pressed a button and the machine's screen lit up. "Tadaa! The name of the game is Twilight Syndrome murder case!"

"WHat the heck!? That's pretty lame!" Hiyoko whined. "I wanna play games about riddle-solving professors or collecting cute monsters!"

"stupid..." Monokuma huffed. "Don't say such silly things! What if we get weighed down by all the quarters?"

Chiaki nodded to herself before looking at everyone. "Twilight Syndrome is an adventure game series... The first one was released in 1996... It's about a group of high school girls who go exploring in order to verify numerous urban legends. The player controls the character like a side-scroller."

"I have no interest in weak things like video games!" Nekomaru announced. "And... I don't even know what generation a game that old is!"

Mahiru let out a slight nervous chuckle. "With your face... I find that hard to believe..."

"But adventure games are boring and tedious to play, right?" Hiyoko frowned.

Monokuma dipped his head. "Don't diss adventure games... Besides, there's a lot of reasons to make one... You know, like... budgetary reasons!"

"Man," Chiaki began. "I was a big fan of the series. I feel like you've totally tainted it."

"Shouldn't you be tainting your face with tears of gratitude?" Monokuma growled. "I've cast a spotlight on a neglected title!"

"Yeah, yeah," you sighed. "What's the point of all this?"

"Puhuhu... You certainly noticed the good part! That's right!"

"This game is gonna be your next motive!"
