Permanent Supervision

You huffed, opening the doors to the restaurant with unease. You hadn't meant to be so unkind to Fuyuhiko, and you'd admit, you overreacted when he asked what parts of what Nagito said were true.

Fuyuhiko hadn't followed you to the restaurant, and for now, the only people you saw were Chiaki, Akane, and Mahiru. Mahiru and Akane were eyeing you cautiously, and Chiaki gave you a simple nod of greetings.

You nodded back.

The door swung open, and Hajime and Fuyuhiko walked in. Fuyuhiko had his arms crossed and looked away from you. Hajime glanced at the both of you, but didn't say anything, and you wondered if he'd noticed your own unease.

"Hey, where's everyone else?" Hajime asked.

"The restaurant," Mahiru said. "They told us to wait for... her," she nodded her head toward you with hesitation.

"I don't really feel like eating," Fuyuhiko muttered.

"Me neither," you sighed.

"Well, too bad!" Mahiru snapped, looking at you. "You tried to kill Sonia and now we're gonna keep an eye on you, got it?"

You looked at her. "To be clear, I tried, I didn't actually do it!," you muttered, turning away.

"Hate to say it, but that still makes it attempted murder, ya' know?" Akane said, scratching the back of her neck.

"It was a spur of the moment," you said, lowering your gaze. "I panicked. I had a whole future waiting for me, and I still don't know where my brother is, and... I don't know," you groaned.

"That still isn't a very good excuse, Y/n," Chiaki said, looking at you. She appeared to empathize with you, but she couldn't help but her speak her mind.

"I know, okay? It wasn't right. I shouldn't have done it, but I did. I don't want to do anything like that again," you said, looking down.

"That's not very convincing," Mahiru scoffed.

You rolled your eyes, and the door opened again, the rest of the class pouring in.

"Ah, we can finally get some grub!" Akane yelled, running up the stairs to the restaurant.

"Where were you guys?" Chiaki asked.

"We were checking the hotel out!" Hiyoko chirped.

"It's a lovely hotel, don't you think?" Sonia asked, walking into the restaurant. You glanced at her, and then looked away, and she noticed, and her face fell.

"So, we all here?" Kazuichi asked.

"Where's Nagito?" Mahiru asked, glancing around.

"Ibuki didn't see him," Ibuki said.

Ah, that's right. You had forgotten that only you, Fuyuhiko, Kazuichi, and you think Nekomaru and Akane knew about Nagito's absence.

"I haven't seen him," you sighed.

"Yeah, he's probably dead anyway, missing for two days now, so let's eat!" Hiyoko chirped.

"He could have fallen off the island!" Ibuki gasped.

"I wouldn't be surprised," Hiyoko shrugged.

"Hey..." Mahiru hummed. "Now that I think about it... Last night, didn't one of you say that Y/n should be tied up, just like Nagito?"

Kazuichi's eyes widened, and teh small bit of food he had in his mouth was spit out. "W-what...? No n-none of us said anything bout that!" He stammered.

"Yeah, I definitely heard something about that," Mahiru said, raising an eyebrow.

"What? Who said it?" Hiyoko asked, and she seemed to be enjoying this.
