As you tiredly stumbled through the pathways between the cottages, you let out a yawn. How had you gotten so tired when, just a few moments ago, you had been wide awake?
You couldn't find the strength to move your legs forward any more, deciding it was best just to lean against the closest mailbox until you could walk again. Looking down, your eyes were met with a pixelated illustration on the mailbox's lid, and the more you looked at it, the more it looked like you. Of course, under the illustration, it had the name Y/n written.
You blinked a couple of times, trying to keep yourself awake enough to get to the door of what seemed like your cottage. With a few stumbles, you pushed yourself off of your mailbox, now leaning on one of the tall wooden supports near the door.
Resting your hand on the cold doorknob, you gently twisted it and leaned forward, opening the door into your cottage. Tripping over your feet, you caught yourself on a nearby desk, kicking the door shut with your foot.
You rubbed your eyes with your hand, groaning in annoyance with yourself. Sure, the events today had been unnerving and then some, but you had indeed been wide awake and talking to Fuyuhiko just a little bit ago. And you couldn't help but wonder, again, why you were suddenly so tired.
You didn't bother to look around the room, and you instead just threw yourself onto the nearby bed. Pulling up the covers and wrapping yourself in the warm cloth, you didn't bother to turn off the light as you closed your eyes in pure exhaustion.
And as you felt yourself fall into the bliss of sleep; unanswered questions kept swirling through your mind. Who put the seventeen of you on this island? Who was controlling Monokuma? What did Monomi know that she wasn't telling you? Why, why, why, and what? The most chilling thing was... you couldn't find an answer to any of the questions. Not one of them could be solved.
That's what scared you the most...

*Ding dong bing bong*
"Ahem, Hope's Peak School Trip Executive Committee has an announcement to make... Goooood morning everyone! Looks like today is gonna be another perfect, tropical day! Now then, let's show some enthusiasm and give it our all today!"
What a pleasant thing to wake up to, hm? No. You didn't think so.
You groaned, rolling over in your bed as you hung your arm over the edge. "The first few moments of waking up were pleasant. Well, at least until your problems began to set in.
Sighing, you sat up, stretching your arms as you yawned. The bright sun was shining in through the window's curtains, and a sliver of sunlight peeked in from your slightly ajar door.
Wait- that's strange. You could've sworn you kicked t shut with your foot last night... Yeah, that's right. You heard the door latch. You stood up, making your way to the door and closing it. That was... strange.
You turned around but your foot caught on the leg of a nearby table, causing you body to come tumbling down. You caught yourself on the table itself, slamming your hand down a sharp object. Your hand shot up, and quietly gasped.
"Fuck!" You hissed, grabbing your hand that was now bleeding from the palm. It wasn't much blood, and you were sure the bleeding would stop in a few minutes.
Looking back at the table, you grabbed the object that had stabbed your palm examining it closely.
A key?
Sure enough, it was a key attached to a ring, and a small tag with your name engraved signalled to you that it was the key to your cottage.
Ah, you must've not realized a key was there and didn't bother to lock the door. The wind must've blown it open....
