Dear Diary, okay so I just got home from the Valentine's dance. First things first, I will go over what I wore. I wanted to keep it simple given that at that school mixer at the beginning of the year I overdid it but since it's Valentine's Day, I wanted to wear pink so this is what I wore.

Cute right? I know it's a dress (obviously) but it's like a casual dress or at least more casual than what I wore to the mixer. And this is the makeup I wore.

So I felt really cute in what I was wearing until Layla walked in looking like a FREAKING ANGEL FAIRY PRINCESS!

It may not seem that much different from the dress I was wearing but somehow Layla manages to wear it wayyyyy better than me- once again this girl looks like a fairy princess! So of course when she entered the room, all the attention was on her. But anyways it started off pretty good, I was dancing with Joseph, drinking punch, eating snacks, traditional stuff but then Layla decided to push me into the punch and then I face planted into the punch and it got all over my dress and at that point, I had HAD it. I had HAD it up to here with always being manipulated by Layla! Every time I am in the same social setting as Layla I ALWAYS get manipulated so I was about ready to pour the punch on her head but instead I had a better idea- I remembered there was a stage for karaoke so I challenged Layla to a singing and dancing battle! And then everyone cheered which was a lot of pressure and not something I was used to but I thought to myself let's do this! So I had the DJ pull up "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift karaoke and told Layla that I bet I can crush it better than her and I sang my best and I think I did pretty well! Everyone cheered and then Layla had the DJ pull up "Love Story" karaoke and she crushed it too and everyone cheered and then I challenged her to a round 2 of Taylor Swift karaoke so I did "22" by Taylor Swift and she did "Red" and the applause we both got was still about equal so then we did the final round and we both belted out "Style" by Taylor Swift and at the very end I BELTED OUT the last note "WE NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE WE NEVER GO OUT OF STYLEEEEEEEE" to the very best of my ability and I got my very first...... standing ovation. And it felt so real to finally crush the most popular girl in school! I then confidently walked off the stage and Joseph told me it was awesome how I stood up for myself. And then the dance was pretty much coming into close but I am so proud of myself for standing up for myself like that! And if Layla retaliates... oh well! It's all about living in the moment. Oh yeah and Henry was there too and he said Layla did better than me but whatever I am still proud of what I did! Point Gabby!
