Diary of a Wimpy Girl

Tuesday, February 26th

Dear Diary, so spring break is in 3 weeks and get this- my family and I usually take a family trip to California over spring break but I got invited to go on a trip to Seaside, Florida!!! Apparently all the "preppy" people go to Seaside over spring break or at least that is what I have seen on instagram. I got invited by this girl named Hailey that is in the musical with me-she plays Frenchie. Of course, I want to go but I want to bring Raven too since she is my best friend and I don't want to leave her out. So I asked Hailey if Raven can come and Hailey said she isn't sure because her parents are in charge of everyone and if they are already taking me, they may not have room for another person. I asked my parents if I can go on the trip and they said they will have to think about it and they would have to meet Hailey's parents because they said "We have never heard of you talk about this girl until now so we want to make sure she is legit" but I am really hoping for a yes!! I love the idea of getting away from my family to be honest and staying in a hotel with a friend and swimming and all that. And since the preps are there, I guess I am back in the popular clan? Not that that really matters but it wouldn't hurt? So I am waiting to hear about that but in the mean time the musical is still going well! Of course Layla is still outshining everyone but I still feel great about my role and I think I am mastering Freddy my Love! And Henry, we have hung out a couple more times after school since Valentine's Day but we are just friend.... I think. Anyways, my family said they don't know about going to California if I am not going but I think I will be fine! It's not like there won't be adults there, Hailey's parents will be there the entire time.

8:30 pm

Dear Diary, so my parents apparently got into the directory and called Hailey's parents and found out that they have been at PTA meetings together so they have met each other and they like each other so they gave me the OK to go to Seaside!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!! I called Raven and told her the news and that it looks like she wouldn't be able to go and told her that I wish she could come and I wasn't sure about going without her but she said she doesn't want to get in the way of this opportunity and she is fine with me going!!! I know I have never talked about Hailey before but sometimes friendships happen quickly. We will just say we have bonded a lot over the past couple weeks being in the musical together and all of a sudden, she is inviting me to Florida. But here's a little more about her. 

So I guess my mom, dad, Rose and Mara are still going to California without me but they sent Hailey's family a long list of emergency contacts in case anything happens but I think I will be fine a week with another family.... or at least I hope..... SEASIDE HERE I COME!
