Diary of a Wimpy Girl

Friday, November 2nd

11:00 am 

Dear Diary, I am sitting in study hall thinking about how I was so focused on being a cheerleader and being popular and Henry this whole time that I totally forgot about Raven! I feel so bad... I didn't even think about her for at least the past month until my mom brought her up!! The most interaction we have had in the past month is an occasional hi in the hallway or a wave when I am at the village with the cheerleaders and she is at the village with.... her new friends I guess? We have been best friends for the past 5 years but now it seems like we are more of casual friends. All this time when I have been a cheerleader I think she has been hanging out with a goth girl because the few times where we have crossed paths I see her with a girl who I don't know that well but she looks like a goth. 

That is all I know about Vanessa but I want to reconnect with Raven so I am going to see if I can get hold of her after school... which is hard because most teachers are strict about phones and texting in class so I am going to have to wait til I see her in person I guess. 

7:00 pm 

Dear Diary, so I went to the village alone actually to try to track down Raven and I found her walking with Vanessa and I said hi and asked if I could talk to Raven alone for a minute and Vanessa said, "Whatever...." So I started walking with Raven and told her everything that has happened the past couple months and she said she was honestly a little jealous that I made the team and she didn't and she said she is kind of upset with me that I had forgotten about her since I have been on the cheerleading team and been dating Henry and everything and I apologized a million times and told her to forget Layla after the whole ordeal that happened at the Halloween party and we must watch our backs with how manipulative Layla is and how she's basically like the mean girls in.... mean girls. And she says the way she made friends with Vanessa is she wanted to at least join some type of school activity so she joined the art club, met Vanessa and then she found out that they were at the same bus stop so they have been talking since then and they have gotten closer. But the thing is, I don't want Raven and I to separate! I don't want us to be those types of people that enter a new school as best friends forever and then halfway through the year we both have a whole new separate group of friends that we sit with at lunch and hang out with after school and we never hang out with each other anymore and then by high school, we haven't talked in ages. I can't let that happen! Raven is the best friend that I have ever had! Popularity was nice but now that my popularity has gone down quite a bit, I might as well reconnect with Raven because wasn't it our goal to become popular together in the first place? Tomorrow, I am going to the pumpkin patch with Henry and I invited Raven and she said yes.
