She stayed in bed for a few days, not telling anyone what actually happened but playing off her heartache as a bad dose of the flu, which she did develop after not drying herself or her hair after her shower. She redressed her bed and took to it, not talking to anyone or even looking at anyone for nearly a week.
Only Ned and Greyson knew what had happened and only Ned knew what she was currently going through. He had guessed that Greyson accepted the rejection and that she was sad about what happened at the party. He had no idea that Greyson and Thea had sex. Twice. He had no idea that Thea had finally accepted Greyson and thought they were starting their lives together that night. She did not see the rejection coming. How could she?
But she was angry at herself for being so vulnerable with him. For allowing him to see her emotions. For opening up to him. She scolded herself over and over again as she lay in bed.
Ned and Amirah visited many times but she was in no fit state for visitors. Poor Ned brought her everything sweet he could get his hands on. Chocolate, sweets, popcorn, crisps, drinks and desserts too. He even brought over a whole cake, which Thea admitted was delicious and it was the first thing that made her sit up in bed.
Ned looked at her like she might break. "Did he accept it then?" She wasn't sure if she should tell him but she needed to talk to someone. So she nodded. "When?" He asked through a mouthful of cake.
"Last week. He took me home from dinner at the pack house and...we...ended...up...having....sex."
"What?" Ned shouted.
"Twice," she blushed.
"TWICE!!"
"Shush!" She said, covering his mouth. She sighed. "Yes OK, I have no idea how it happened at first but I thought we were going to make a go of it. I thought he accepted me. But then when he was leaving he rejected me."
"How?" Ned gasped. And Thea told him everything. Every embarrassing detail. "The bastard! I will kill the fucker!" Ned shouted standing up.
"You will not!" Thea pulled him back down to sit on her window seat. "He is to be the next Alpha! Just leave it. You could end up in serious trouble."
"It would be worth it!" He snapped. He stood up and paced the bedroom. "Prick can't treat you like that."
"He can and he did," Thea sighed. "And I was a stupid twat for not knowing any better."
Ned turned to her quickly. "Don't say that. You are not. He was your mate. You were giving in to fate! Anyone would in the same situation. What he did was seriously messed up. All the power has gone to the cunts head. This pack is doomed if he is to be our leader."
"Yeah, my sentiments exactly," she smirked. The first sign of any sort of smile she had given in days.
"Look, I do not know a lot," She gave him a quizzical look. "OK, I know virtually nothing, but what I do know is that by lying in this bed, by being all mopey and moody, you are letting him win. Letting him think that he got to you. And I know that you are too strong and determined to let him actually believe that."
"So he is at school?" She groaned.
"He is. Still as cocky as ever. Although he is a lot more grumpy than usual." Ned informed her which actually caused her to grin.
"I don't know if I am ready to face him," she said shyly. "I am mortified."
"Didn't he say you were the best he had?" Ned grinned.
"I really need to get more girlfriends to talk to," Thea said, throwing a pillow at his head.
"What I mean is that if you go back to school tomorrow and hold your head high it will sicken him. Actually you go in looking hot and I guarantee he will blow a fuse!" He chuckled.
