Getting To Know You

By the time Bowie and Thea had made it out of the hall and back to Bowie's home, Thea was feeling a little better about being there. She still felt bad that Amber had taken it so terribly and she wasn't sure how she could help or what she could do to make the situation better for everyone.

Bowie let out a sigh as he opened his front door and let Thea step in. "Welcome home," he smiled as an older woman came hustling into the foyer. "Emmie, I have been wondering where you were," he chuckled as he leaned down and kissed the woman on the cheek. The woman however was smiling at Thea. "Emmie, this is my Thea."

The lady grabbed both of Thea's hands and pulled her into a hug. "Oh I am delighted to meet you Thea.  Bowie has been waiting for you for a long time." She then held the girl at arms length. "Now let me look at you," she beamed. "Oh your eyes are like sparkling stars. My but you are a Beauty."

Thea couldn't help but adore the woman. "Thank you Ms...."

The lady scoffed. "No, I am simply Emmie to you," she smiled. "I am Bowie's housekeeper here in the Alpha quarters."

"She was my and my sibling's nanny when we were kids," Bowie explained and Thea chuckled. "She's not my nanny anymore obviously,"

Emmie smirked. "I don't know I still make sure you are rested, dressed, and I clean up after you. Pretty much exactly what I did when you were little." All three laughed as Rowan came into the foyer from the side room.

"Bowie you have a meeting tomorrow with the potential new stockists. It's at 9am but would you like me to push it back to 10am so you can have breakfast with Thea?" He smiled at Thea as he spoke.

Bowie frowned forgetting that he had work this weekend. "Do not change on my account," Thea protested, but Bowie shook his head.

"No I want to have breakfast with you and show you around a little. Can you move it to 10am?" He looked up at Rowan.

Rowan scanned through the iPad in his hand. "That's suits better actually as you have the landowners for plot 39 coming just after 10am to complete the sale. I have the bank informed of the potential transaction and papers from the council as well ready to go." He then looked up. "I promise Thea after that he is free all weekend and yours to command."

Bowie rolled his eyes as Rowan smirked. "That's OK, I have some revision to do anyway," she shrugged.

"There is also the small matter of having to make a speech at Ambers party. I mean I can fill in for you if you like, but it is a tradition in the pack that the Alpha says a few words." Bowie huffed. "Oh stop moaning you will be in and out again within minutes." He gave a chuckle. "And it will be hilarious for the rest of us to watch her realise that she and you are not mated, and hopefully she will leave you alone after that."

Bowie moaned again. Thea rolled her eyes. "You have to do it. It's your duty. And I shall be waiting for you when you get -"

"Oh no," Bowie scoffed and shook his head. "If I have to go, then you have to go." He folded his arms smiling.

Thea frowned. "The girl hates me, she doesn't want me there at her party to spoil it for her."

Theresa a knock on the door as the three were protesting and Emmie went to pick up the envelope that had fallen on the floor by the front entrance. She turned the envelope over in her hands. "I think you may find she does want you there," Emmie shrugged as she passed the envelope to Thea. "This is one of her invites, and it is addressed to you."

Both Rowan and Bowie looked between each other and then down at the envelope. Neither trusted Amber much and were about to protest when Thea ripped open the envelope. "You're right Emmie, it's an invitation to the party." She held up the card and read aloud. "Dearest Thea, I would like to extend an invitation to you for my birthday soirée tomorrow evening. I would very much like you to have a front row seat to see Bowie fall head over heels in love with me. Yours, Amber." Thea looked up at the three in front of her and chuckled. "We should introduce Amber to Grayson, they would get on like a house on fire."
