Jamaica looked out of the lift. She had no idea who the strangeer was, and why he had simply given her an envelope and his business card. Jamaica took one look at the business card and read it.
'Shedrach Evans: CEO Shedrach Malls.'
It was hard for her to believe that Shedrach was in Lagos and not in Port Harcourt. At this point she felt that going down to Port Harcourt was unnecessary.
She folded the envelope and put it along with the business card, inside her hand bag. Shedrach had told her to leave the hotel as soon as possible. But she was on the first floor tempted to proceed as she stepped out of the lift. She slowly made her way to room 201 but this time, taking the stairway. She was aware of the dangers that she was exposing herself to. And she knew that she could also be walking into a trap. However she cared less. Tony's life was in danger, and she had to do something to save him.
"Tony, the job? It needs to be done." Tony still had mixed feelings about going after Jamaica as Mr. Shegaya had suggested. Saying no meant having someone else being sent to take him out. And even agreeing to go after Jamaica also put him at risk of being eliminated, once the job was done.
" This needs careful planning and..."
"I know this touches you personally, Tony. But before she creates more problems for us, she has to be taken out.""It's exactly why I said, it needs careful planning. As someone very close to her, I can get her to follow me anywhere. I mean, to any location. Then if I don't do the job myself, someone else can take the shot."
Mr. Shegaya laughed at the suggestion Tony had made. Although it seemed like a good idea, he wanted Tony to execute the job himself.
"Mr. Tony, you have to take the shot."
"Why me?"
"Why you?" Mr. Shegaya laughed. " It's your ticket to be united with your wife and kids, once again. It simply means you've been given another chance, definitely your last."Tony bent his head down and closed his eyes. He knew what Mr. Shegaya was talking about. This was his last and only chance to correct a mistake that had corrupted his profile as a hitman. He realized that there may have been talks to replace him especially after his second attempt on Alfred. So is this what Alex has refused to tell me? He thought.
He had only one option and that was to execute the orders given to him. With much hesitation, he nodded his head and looked up at Mr. Shegaya.
"Alright, sir, consider it done."
"Good, that was a wise decision." Mr. Shegaya called the two men standing outside the door through his phone and told them to come in. Once they came in, he ordered them to untie Tony. "This meeting is over but these two gentlemen will keep in touch with you, Tony."Mr. Shegaya, accompanied by the two men, left the hotel. Jamaica had reached room 201 shortly after they had gone, and stood by the door hoping to hear voices coming from within. When she didn't, she knocked.
"Who is it?" Tony had come to the door and with his right ear against the door, listened. When he didn't hear anything, he knew that probably it was Jamaica. He opened the door.
"Are you alone, Tony?" She said, as she rushed in. She scanned the room rapidly to see if she would spot anything that would give Tony away.
"Agnes, I've been waiting for you."
"Well I hesitated a bit before coming." She said as her eyes kept surveying the room
"Did you change your mind?" He said.
"I almost did, but don't blame me. I wasn't even sure you'd come." Tony knew that Jamaica had thought that he may have decided to go home, instead."Agnes, I would have told you that back there at the restaurant."
"But you decided to meet with me. Why? The most important people in your life are at home, right?" Tony rolled his eyes and shook his head.
