It was a Saturday morning and Jamaica found herself in Port-Harcourt. She had received the call the previous night shortly after her call with Tony abruptly ended. While she felt bad that he had cut the call, she wasn't too worried about him.
She was entirely focused on the job ahead of her. Frank had called to tell her that everything was set and that they had to get going. Jamaica preferred traveling on her own since she wasn't in the mood to be with Frank and his team. She had a lot on her mind and this was all the more reason why she wanted to travel alone.
"Frank, I will be in Port Harcourt but, I'm traveling alone." She had told him when he called.
"Jamaica, this is team work and not something personal to any of us. We should work as a team."
"Well, if you had reasoned this way in the past, we should have accomplished more, as a team."
"Is that what you think?"
"That's so far what you have been doing." Frank was boiling with anger at hearing Jamaica constantly rant about not being given enough Intel. This was an old argument for him but he felt that for her it wasn't."Jamaica this is not about me but about you, not accepting the fact that someone else can also do the job that you have been doing."
"I'm not bothered about who you want to replace me with. Bisi Is there, you can work with her and keep me in the background." Frank sighed and shook his head. Jamaica so you chose a delicate moment to try and spoil business for me? He thought.
"Jamaica can you for once get past all of this crap and follow us down to PH?"
"Frank I'm traveling alone. I'll be there in time to meet you guys, okay?"
"So you're not coming with us, right?" Frank wanted to be sure that he got a definitive answer from her.
"Frank I just told you that I will be in Port Harcourt. Just tell me where we'll meet."
"Fine, fine. Just don't mess this up. If you do, there'll be no job for us." Jamaica sighed and shook her head. What don't you understand about what I just said? She thought.
"Frank don't you have anything to add than to keep repeating what you have said?"
"I just want to be sure we're on the same page.""Look Frank, once I get there I'll call, okay?"
" Okay, because once the plane lands and we come out we have to book into a hotel." He told her.
Frank didn't like Jamaica putting road blocks into his plans. To him it felt like Jamaica wasn't interested in the mission and so was reluctant to travel with the rest of the team. While her reluctance didn't bother him, he was afraid that her attitude could compromise the mission.
This was something he felt that Duke should be aware of. And so he decided to call Duke to let him know what the situation was like.
"Hello, sir."
"Frank, I hope there's no problem?" Duke knew that Frank calling him meant that there was some kind of difficulty."Everything is fine. I just wanted to inform you that Jamaica is not traveling with us. She said she prefers to travel alone."
Duke shook his head worried that Jamaica was about to compromise the whole mission. He had had that feeling when she came into his office to talk to him, shortly after the briefing ended.
Her attitude suggested that she might be reluctant to go. Frank calling him confirmed his thoughts but he couldn't stop the mission because she didn't want to go. He had given his word that the hit on Tony would be carried out.
