Jamaica had just entered the house when she received a message. Taking hold of her phone, she looked at the message, surprised yhat the sender was Mr. Shehu. Jamaica quickly read the message.
'You want me to help you? Then you have to do something for me. Call me when you are ready.'
Mr. Shehu was requesting for her help. But after the way he had angrily asked her to leave his office, she wondered why he even needed her.
"Sir, I received your message." She said, after she called him.
"Good. I believe we can be useful to each other."
"How?" She said, frowning at this unusual request.
"You've gathered enough information, on your own. So I believe you are the type that likes to work alone. I admire such qualities."
"I don't understand, sir." In that instant she received another message from him which said,
'I need you to go to PH Asap.'
"Sir, but I have a regular job." She said, after reading the message.
"Your job is a disguise, mine is an order."
"No sir." Jamaica sat in agitation as his words came through her phone."You've gathered enough Intel on Sambo Constructions. The last piece of information I believe might be in Port-Harcourt."
"Sir, I can't." Mr. Shehu fumed as he listened to her. He wasn't interested in her resisting to go down to Port-Harcourt. His interest was to get to Shedrach before any other person got to him, first. He had no time to waste now that an order had been given to eliminate her. He wanted to make sure she got there, did the job, and then have someone take her out, immediately."Jamaica, you are putting your life at risk if you do not do what you are told."
"Sorry sir, but are you threatening me?" She said, getting angry with him."A threat is like a dog barking without biting. I am only giving you the chance to do what is right, to save yourself and a whole lot of other people."
Jamaica shook her head regretting even setting foot into his office. She didn't know him too well but already understood how he worked. He, like her uncle, was only interested in gathering information.
But what are you going to do with it? She thought. To her, it didn't make sense that he was so insistent on getting information that he claimed was in Shedrach's possession. His insistence made her feel that perhaps, he could also be on the list of the twelve names which she had collected from Mr. Bolaji. She quickly cut the call and went into her bedroom and opened the safe.
She brought out the file in which she had kept the list. When she took it out she scrolled through it quickly and nodded her head as she saw his name. He was third on the list just below Mr. Bolaji.
Jamaica looked at the order of names in the file. At the very top was Mr. Sambo's name. Someone had eliminated him. But Mr. Bolaji was also assassinated. She blinked as she felt she saw a common pattern. She realized that Mr. Shehu's life could be in danger. Soon, someone would come after him.
Jamaica quickly put the file back into the safe and locked the safe, after taking her gun out. She had to visit him and pick up the file in his possession before someone else picked it up. She left the house and arrived at his office. Without telling the secretary that she was going into his office to see him, she barged in and locked the door.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, terrified by her presence. "And why are you locking the door?" Jamaica didn't waste time answering his questions. She pointed her gun at him, immediately.
"Just keep your mouth shut or I will shoot you." She told him. Mr. Shehu kept quiet as Jamaica walked up to him and picked up the files on his desk. She opened the first one and saw the paper in which was written the order to proceed with the Port-Harcourt Job. She picked it up and showed it to him.
