Tony observed Jamaica as he sat down opposite her. Thinking about everything that Femi had told him, he wanted to believe that the woman facing him wasn't as bad as Femi had depicted her. Jamaica on her part wasn't keen on hearing about anything related to the shooting. To her everything that happened was in the past and so it bothered her why Tony had brought it up, again."Tony I made it clear when you came in, that I am a very busy woman. I don't have the time to listen to gossips." She said. Tony laughed at the rigidness with which she expressed herself and felt that she was being too hard on herself.
"Don't be too hard on yourself, Agnes."
"Is that what you think?" She said. Tony nodded. "Well then, maybe you should consider dealing with someone who is less..." Tony's eyes beamed with surprise."Aha, Agnes! if you keep talking like this, I might just do that." He interrupted.
"And after getting what you want?"
"What do you mean?" Jamaica stood up and looked angrily at him.
"You come all the way here telling me about a shooting that you know nothing about and..."
"I went to the hospital and met a guy, your friend's boyfriend. Want to know what he told me?"
" No! You shouldn't have gone to see him.""And why not?"
Paying Femi a visit was the last thing she expected Tony to do. It reminded her of the day she went to see him at his restaurant and surprisingly met Abisola and Alex. Seeing the two of them, she knew that Abisola had told Alex about the incident, who then told Tony about it.
"So is that why you invited Abisola and Alex on the same day that you told me to come to the restaurant?"
"Agnes, tell me what is really going on so I can help you." Jamaica walked up to the front door and opened it.
"Like I told you Tony, I am a very busy woman." Tony sighed and got up and then walked up to her.
"You know, I got a confession from him?" He whisper into her ears, making her look thoughtfully at him. She wondering what Femi could have told him.
"Well confessions don't intimidate me, Tony."
"I agree. But you should be worried."
"Well, my only worry right now, is getting back to work."" Yes, of course." He nodded. Jamaica leaned forward and pressed her lips against his, and closed her eyes.
"You know," Tony said, as she moved away, "I would be worried if I were you, Agnes." Jamaica ignored his comment. "Your friend has abandoned him and vacated their house. You know, like they were never really together."
"Oh, Really?" She asked, surprised at how Tony was still trying to get her to talk about the shooting. Tony nodded.
"It goes to show that your friend can be the greatest threat to your existence." Agnes placed her arms around his shoulder and once again, pinned her lips to his in a kiss."Well, the best she can do is bark." She said moving back. Tony laughed.
"Aha, Agnes, you be character sha. Why am I even having this conversation with you?"
"It's because you're trying to dig into my past, to understand my present. Someone is telling you to do so."
"And who is that person?" He said. Jamaica wondering if it was appropriate for her to tell him that she felt he had been sent by Alex. Then again she felt that it was no use trying to stir up suspicion."I have work to do, Tony."
"So do I." Jamaica stared at him thoughtfully and then placed her hands on his shoulders."And what do you actually do?" Tony blinked as the question took him by surprise.
