Frank was worried about Bisi's behavior ever since she came back from the pub. He however kept quiet about it, but also constantly kept eye on her. And he began to notice her attitude changing. At first he never attached much importance to it but then he realized that she was getting more and more detached from the group. This was something he realized could compromise future missions. He decided to talk to her and called her aside one day. He asked her if she was having any personal issues that were troubling her.
"I'm okay, boss." She replied.
"Bisi I see you getting more and more detached from the group."
"Boss, I told you I am fine.""Are you sure?" Bisi nodded candidly. But Frank looked at her and felt that somehow, she was failing him. And recognizing this, he was also beginning to lose the trust he had in her. And if he couldn't trust her then, he couldn't prepare her for the sort of transition he was about to make. He wanted future missions to exclude Jamaica in favor of Bisi. But he had to trust her enough for that to happen.
When he and his team was assigned the task of tracking the governor's husband, he was quietly putting her to the test. This was because he wished to have Jamaica replaced. He wanted it because he felt that Jamaica was not a part of his team, even though he Frank, was working for her uncle.
Jamaica being on his team was something he didn't like so much. He wanted a team he could personally control. He wanted to work independently even though he had to always report back to Duke. Having Jamaica on his team made him feel like he was being closely monitored. It made him feel uncomfortable.
"Fine, Bisi," he said, as he looked at her. He wasn't impressed with the answer she gave him. " I just have to believe that you are still with us."
"Boss, I'm with you all the way." She answered. Frank nodded and smiled at her but didn't believe her. And so he decided to put her under intense observation by telling Tunde and Stanley, the other two members of the team, to watch her every move. He then informed Duke about what was going on, by paying him a visit to his office. When he got there and knocked on the door, Jamaica opened it."Frank, welcome." She greeted, as he entered.
"Jamaica, it's good to see you." He smiled back at her. Jamaica shut the door and turned to face him. They stared at each other for a few seconds before she asked,
"Would you like to sit down, Frank?""Ah no, I mean, I just wanted to see your uncle. Is he in?"
"I hope everything is fine, Frank?" Frank nodded, but couldn't conceal the worried look on his face. "Okay Frank, you look worried. So before you go in to see my uncle, tell me what's going on?" Frank smiled at Jamaica and shook his head.
"It has nothing to do with our job. It's quite personal." Jamaica quickly scanned him and knew that he was telling a lie.
"Then I'll tell my uncle that you are here. But, I am sure the purpose of your visit is not personal." Frank couldn't help but laugh while Jamaica knocked on her uncle's door. When he told her to come in, she went in briefly and then came out. "You can go in, now." Jamaica watched as Frank went in and shut the door. She then went to sit down at her desk and tried to listen to Frank's conversation with her uncle.
But as she sat down at her desk the only thing she heard was when Frank greeted her uncle.
"Hello boss, sorry I had to come all this way to disturb you. But I felt it was necessary to..."
"Frank, you can say your apologies to someone else. Get straight to the point." He interrupted.
"Thank you, boss." Frank cleared his throat as he sat down. "Well it is about Bisi."
"And what about her?"
"Well, our last surveillance at the pub went well and we were able to get some vital intel from the conversation that went on.""Interesting."
"Sir, the men were four in number, and they sat down to discuss the Alfred murder."
"Alfred Bayo?""Yes, sir. Alfred was supposed to be taken down at the Sheraton immediately after the meeting in plain sight. But that failed and the hitman located Alfred and killed him. However this second killing was not ordered."
