Have you ever reminisced and wondered why the past felt so kind, and yet if you were to go back to that moment you would find yourself unsatisfied. People only recall the good in what has happened, but fail to remember the whole picture.

But I find myself living it the exact opposite way. My heart aches remembering that day. I used to beam with joy at the thought of it, but now all I can reflect is the regret and pain I've dragged along with me.

The crisp Winter air clashed with the warmth inside the car. I reclined my seat back and rested my head, slowly shutting my eyes. I took a quick glance at San's focused expression, smiling at the sight of it.

We were traveling to my mother's house on an invitation. She claimed it just wasn't fair to her that we visit San's family, but not her. Although I had been planning on taking him there, it turned out to be a last second sort of trip.

My eyes slowly fluttered shut halfway through the road, as the car's engine put me to sleep. I seemed to have fallen into a deep slumber, as it wasn't until I heard the door shutting that my eyes shot open.

I woke up feeling dazed at first, studying my surroundings. Did we arrive already? How long was I asleep for?

I sat up and looked around for San when he suddenly came around and opened the door for me.

"You awake?" He gently asked

I nodded without a word, still not fully aware of my surroundings.

"Did I sleep the whole time?" I muttered to myself

He chuckled, "did you not get enough sleep last night?"

He removed my seat belt and helped me out of the car, "I couldn't, I was busy packing everything." I answered

We had arrived at my mother's lovely house that was in the middle of nowhere. The natural setting made up for all of that though. How I wish I could live somewhere quiet like this one day, with San.

San went ahead to the car's trunk, pulling both of our bags out. I felt guilty for not keeping him company while he drove the whole time, and now he's doing all the work too. He locked the car and dragged both of the bags with him. He stopped halfway when he noticed that I hadn't moved from my place. I didn't realize I had been staring at him till he spoke up.

"Are you still asleep?" He giggled

I walked up to him and grabbed my bag out of his hand, "Are you not tired?"

"A little but I can manage." He took the bag back in his hand

"I got it." I pushed it away from him all the way to the front door

I rang the doorbell and waited when San suddenly pulled my bag once more to him.

"Let me carry it inside for you." He spoke gently

With a soft smile hanging on my lips I leaned my head on his shoulder, "thank you."

The sound of the lock clicked, causing me to stand up straight. My mother opened the door, greeting us.

"Hello." San greeted

"Oh it's you two, come on in." My mother gasped
