"Happy Birthday, Lisayaaah!"

Rose threw herself mercilessly at Lisa, who only made a sleepy, surprised sound before wearily trying to push Rosé away.

"Fuck... Chaengie, I was asleep... What time is it?"

"I know. And it's just after six.",

the blond girl explained while poking Lisa in the side. Lisa groaned and struggled to escape Rose's attacks, falling off the bed in the process. Rose laughed.

"I hate you.",

Lisa grumbled and remained lying on the floor, but Rosé pulled her up.

"Oh no! I'm not getting any cake until you're downstairs, so hurry up!"

After breakfast with Rosie's parents and a birthday song, during which Lisa sat around a little embarrassed because she didn't know how to react when three people sang her 'Happy Birthday' loudly, the two went to school. The cake was incredibly delicious, and Rosé was almost happier about Lisa's birthday present than Lisa herself.

"I can not accept that!",

Lisa had said as she stared at the yellow and black motorcycle in front of her.

Mason had to reassure her that the bike wasn't too expensive since he had bought it from a colleague, and Clare helped her husband by convincing Lisa that it would be easier if Lisa could drive to and from school on her own, and could take Rosé with her.

The second gift was money for her driver's license, and finally Lisa had given in, but not without thanking them countless times.

At school, Rosé literally jumped around Lisa.

"It's going to be so incredibly cool! Just imagine it! The two of us on the bike! It's going to be so fucking cool!"

Rosé knew she was definitely more excited about Lisa's gift than Lisa herself, but that didn't bother her at all. She was aware that her friend was probably secretly concerned about being a burden, even though she knew that Rosé's family made more than enough money. With Clare as a businesswoman and Mason as a well-respected lawyer, they had practically no financial worries. And Lisa was practically Rosé's sister by now.

Lisa couldn't help but grin. She had wanted a motorcycle for a long time. She was theoretically ready for the exam, she had known everything she needed to pass for months, maybe even longer. And most likely, Lisa would take the exam as early as next month. She was good at things that sparked her passion, and motorcycles were way too cool.

Lisa grinned throughout the first lesson, and Rosé thought it was absolutely cute and adorable. It seemed like Lisa had forgotten the conversation she had with her mother last week.

When Lisa came home from her meeting with Jennie on Friday, she had been so cold that she hadn't even looked at Rosé, and she hadn't said anything for almost two hours. It had been painful and Rosé was close to tears, but if she had cried Lisa would have taken care of her and Rosé couldn't let her. Lisa needed time to grieve, somehow, and that didn't go well while she was comforting Rosé.

Normally Lisa acted colder and more aloof at school than she was when she was alone with Rosé. At school, Lisa was aware of her surroundings every second. Maybe it was because Lisa herself was always so observant that she expected the same from those around her.

And now Lisa was grinning happily to herself, she didn't really care about anything. It was her 18th birthday. Not even the fact that she had to work with Jennie again in math could keep her from her joy. She didn't even catch Jennie's absolutely confused expression, and Rosé had to bite back a laugh as Jennie quickly ran to her as the teacher briefly left the classroom.
