When Lisa opened the door at 11, she was greeted by a bouquet of daisies that Jennie practically held up to her face.
"Hey.",
the older girl greeted her with a sweet smile, and it took Lisa a few seconds to process the sight before her.
Jennie looked great.
She was wearing tan pants, a white top, and a black leather jacket.
Her dark hair was wavy and her eyeliner, which she didn't wear to school, accentuated her feline eyes.
Aside from the eyeliner and lipstick, her makeup was very subtle.Jennie waited patiently until Lisa finally cleared her throat.
"Hi. You... you look good."
Jennie's smile widened.
"Thank you. You look great too, Lisa. May I come in?"
Lisa nodded and stepped aside.
As soon as Jennie stepped inside, Rosé came running out of the kitchen and pulled the smaller girl into a hug."Hi Unnie. Let me take the flowers, I'll put them in Lisa's room."
Before Lisa could object, the blonde girl had already taken the daisies and disappeared with them.
Standing somewhat awkwardly in the hallway, Lisa and Jennie looked at each other."Do you want something to drink or anything else?",
Lisa asked in an attempt to be hospitable, but Jennie shook her head.
"I'd rather go already. Is that okay?"
Lisa nodded immediately.
"Sure. Do I need a jacket? You said I needed to dress a little warmer."
"If you want, of course, but you don't really need to."
Lisa nodded again and stood there uncertainly for a few more seconds until Jennie finally chuckled softly.
"So?"
"Ah... yes."
Lisa put on her shoes, said goodbye to Rosé, and finally followed Jennie into the car.
After a not too long drive, Jennie was a good driver, the two arrived at Yongsan Park, near the National Museum.Lisa was relieved that the date's destination was not the museum, she couldn't imagine how awkward a museum visit with Jennie would be.
At the same time, she couldn't imagine Jennie really thinking that a date in the park would impress a spoiled rich girl.
Unless, of course, Jennie had more planned. After a few minutes of walking they reached a lake. The two didn't talk much to each other, but Jennie seemed happy and excited, so it wasn't an awkward silence.
The cherry blossoms that floated on the surface of the water and covered the paths like a carpet, created an almost romantic mood.
Jennie led Lisa to a bench, sat down and smiled at her expectantly."Are you hungry yet?"
Lisa nodded, and as Jennie pulled two lunch boxes out of her bag she could feel her mouth watering - even without seeing the contents.
Jennie's food was incredibly delicious, delicious enough for Lisa to still question whether the older girl might be really getting help from her cooks after all. However, Jennie always seemed to be really proud of the food, which caused Lisa to start to believe her.The first lunchbox contained joomukbap, fried chicken and mandu, while the second lunchbox was full of lovingly arranged fruit.
For the first time today, Lisa returned Jennie's motivated smile.
No matter how much Lisa had dreaded the date for the past two days, the food almost made up for it.
She overlooked Jennie's amused smile."Enjoy."
"Thank you. You too."
Lisa said, and took a bite.
Jennie, too, ate contentedly.
