Future

"How do I get a cute, hot girlfriend?"

Jennie looked at Nayeon a little surprised.

"I thought you weren't sure if you liked girls.",

she mumbled and picked up one of the sticky Dutch caramel waffles Nayeon kept raving about. After taking a bite, she grimaced.

"And what do you like about this disgusting stuff? It's way too sweet. And sticky. I think if I have more than one bite of this waffle I'm going to be sick..."

Nayeon was visiting Jennie.
For once Jennie had time, in her opinion far too often since Lisa went dancing in the studio again. Like today.
And since the house party, it wasn't just Jisoo who kept dropping by unannounced.

"You're eating it wrong!"

Nayeon contradicted, shaking her head.

"I didn't say you had to make tea for nothing. Then you put the Stroopwafel on top of the hot tea for two minutes until the caramel melts a little."

Jennie was obviously still not convinced, but didn't complain any further and ate her waffle without further complaint. Then she looked at Nayeon seriously.

"Back to your question. You want a girlfriend, right? Are you in love?"

Nayeon, who by now had her mouth full herself, just shook her head, which was why Jennie continued to question her.

"But you like women?"

Nayeon shrugged.

"I'm not really sure. But whenever I see you and Lisa cuddling around, I always want to kick one of you in the face.",

she explained thoughtfully.
Jennie stared at her, a little shocked.

"Excuse me?"

The stunned reaction made Nayeon laugh.

"Sorry. Not literally, of course. I'm just super jealous because I also want to have a cute, attractive girl on my arm looking at me with heart-shaped eyes."

Jennie tilted her head thoughtfully.

"That sounds a lot like you're gay.",

she said slowly.
Nayeon nodded.

"Could be. I'm not uncomfortable with the idea, at least. But I have absolutely no experience with it, and it could just be pure curiosity so far, so I'd rather be careful."

"Ah."

Jennie said and thought for a moment. Then she smiled at Nayeon.

"So... do you have a crush?"

Nayeon's shake of the head only irritated Jennie. She furrowed her brow.

"Then why do you want a girlfriend so badly?"

"Isn't it obvious? I'm the only single one in our group of friends! And I'm tired of having five couples around me flirting 24/7. It's exhausting! If I have to put up with that, I at least want a girlfriend myself!"
