Surprisingly, Jennie woke up before Lisa.
Surprisingly, not because Lisa generally woke up early, but rather because Jennie avoided getting out of bed for as long as possible in the morning.
She hated talking to people early in the morning and was amazed at how well she could deal with her morning frustrations at school. However, she certainly didn't have the nickname "ice princess" for nothing.
If she ever woke up before eight o'clock at the weekend, she usually stayed in bed and just tried to sleep again.
Which wasn't possible today...She literally jumped out of bed when she realized that she had been pressed tightly against Lisa, hugging her with her arms and legs like a koala.
It was a miracle that Lisa could sleep like that.As soon as Jennie had distanced herself, she regretted it a little. She immediately missed the warmth and the sweet smell. Yes, Lisa smelled amazingly sweet. Especially Lisa's shoulder-length hair, which tickled her cheek while Jennie buried her face in the crook of Lisa's neck.
Somewhat indecisively, Jennie looked at the peacefully sleeping Lisa, who smacked her lips softly and buried her face deeper into the pillow. She shook her head in amusement before slipping slowly and as quietly as possible into the kitchen.
She wasn't the first one awake."Good morning, Jennie."
Jennie blinked tiredly, then shook her head slowly.
"Coffee..."
she mumbled, and was really glad when a coffee pot was pushed towards her without any comment.
After drinking the slightly too bitter but still hot coffee she sighed comfortably."I'm sorry. Good morning, Mr. Park. I need coffee first thing in the morning otherwise I get irritated quite easily.",
she confessed sheepishly.
Rosé's father laughed."Don't worry, my wife is the same. You can call me Mason, by the way. Did you sleep well? No hangover?"
Jennie nodded, still a little overwhelmed that he didn't seem to have a problem with letting minors drink alcohol in his house.
"I slept very well, thank you for asking. And no, no hangover whatsoever.",
she said, smiling cautiously.
Mason just smiled back."How's are the legal proceedings going?"
"Good. Yang Hyun Suk confessed everything and gave quite a bit of inside information.",
she said, and literally felt her heart lighten. The constant feeling of being watched was still there, but Jennie felt safer. She knew who the stalkers were. She knew that she would be protected. Not just from the police.
Jisoo had followed her without hesitation, and Rosie hadn't hesitated to get help either. Not to mention Lisa, who had gone to her, even though she knew from Jisoo that Jennie hated her at that moment, and even though she actually knew (if she had taken the time to think) that the police were already on their way and would arrive before Lisa.
Even Bambam and Jackson, who Jennie had practically never spoken to, helped protect her."I have to thank you too, sir.",
she murmured.
"I didn't get a chance, but I'm really glad you drove me home. I don't think I would have got into a cab voluntarily."
"That's not worth mentioning. And still, just Mason please.",
he said as his wife shuffled slowly into the kitchen, still half asleep.
Wordlessly, he poured her a cup of coffee, which Rosé's mother drank with her eyes closed."Hmm...",
she sighed and slowly opened her eyes.
She kissed her husband before smiling at Jennie."Good morning Jennie."
