⚠️Alcoholism⚠️
Dean is drunk. Again. For the second week, straight. He's been drinking constantly, Cas and Sam have tried to stop him, but every time they do, it gets worse and he drinks more. They can't figure out why.
Dean tosses an empty bottle of whisky in the trash can beside the table he's sitting at and opens another. He's thinking about everything he feels. He hates feeling, and he thinks drinking makes him stop, but it doesn't. It just makes it worse, but he doesn't remember any of it in the morning.
"Dean you have to stop, please." Cas begs, trying to take the bottle from Dean.
Dean refuses and grips the bottle so tight, a crack forms going up the side. Cas let's go, knowing that Dean's going to hurt himself by breaking the glass if he keeps trying to take it. "Dean, please." Cas pleas and Dean shakes his head, silently, bringing the bottle to his lips and drinking gulp after gulp.
Dean keeps on drinking and Cas gives up, sitting down beside Dean. If he's not going to stop, Cas will sit there until he passes out, and take him to bed.
Dean finishes a second bottle and tries to stand up to grab another, but he stumbles immediately, his vision going white. He holds onto the table, trying not to pass out.
Cas stands up quickly, holding Dean up by his shoulders. "Dean you need to go to bed." Cas says sadly. It hurts him almost as bad as it hurts Dean to see him this drunk.
"No." Dean slurs out, turning his head to Cas and shoving him off, walking to the fridge and grabbing a beer.
"Dean, please stop you're going to kill yourself from all this." Cas says, tears coming to his eyes.
"Good." Dean says simply, stumbling back to the table with his beer.
Cas breaks down when Dean says this. Why would he want to kill himself? What could be that bad in Dean's mind that he wants to drink himself to death?
"Cas stop crying. 'M fine." Dean says, looking at Cas worried.
"No you're not! If you are willing to drink until you die, you're not 'fine,' Dean. Why would you try to do that?" Cas asks, crying fully now. It's not like Dean will remember this in the morning anyways.
"Because I never get what I want! I will never be happy because of this fucked up life. I will never get to be who I really am!" Dean yells, throwing his half empty beer bottle against the ground and making Cas flinch.
"Yes you can, Dean." Cas says, wiping his tears. He's started to get scared of Dean when he's like this; drunk out of his mind. He's so violent.
"No! No I can't Cas you don't get it!" Dean yells, putting his head in his hands. His shoulders start to shake and Cas puts a hand on Dean's shoulder, trying to calm him down.
"You can. You just have to let yourself be happy. You can't keep drinking like this, you'll never be happy if you're never sober, Dean. If you want something other than this life, go get it. Me and Sam will support you the whole way." Cas says, Dean's hands balling into fists over his eyes.
"I can't just 'go get it' it's not that simple. And drinking is the only thing that's keeping me alive right now, you don't understand!" Dean yells defensively, and Cas backs up just in case Dean gets violent. "I'm not gonna hit you or whatever you think. I'd never." Dean says, calmer.
"It's just.. you get violent when you're drunk. It scares me." Cas says sadly. He wishes he could just comfort Dean how he wants to, but he can get angry.
"Please don't be scared of me. I can't- I won't. I just can't handle being sober and thinking constantly. I can't think about it anymore." Dean admits, tears running freely down his cheeks.
