A/N here's a pretty long one since I haven't posted in this book for a long time. I just have some ideas that work better for Destiel than the ineffable husbands so I thought i'd go for it with this chapter 🤭
Dean, Sam, and Cas just finished a case and wanted to celebrate. They got the creatures killed quickly, and there were only two deaths when it was almost a lot more, so they decide to go to a bar. Sam breaks off pretty quick, finding some other hunters that he recognized, and Dean and Cas sit at the bar, sipping beers.
"So, what now? We paid for the motel for another two nights already." Cas asks, wondering if they'd stay or they'd cut their losses and go home. They're states away from home, in the middle of Montana, and the motel had them pay up front for however many nights they needed.
"I say we should stay. We don't get to come here often, and this place is beautiful." Dean says, shrugging. He truly does love the nature here, the gorgeous mountains, rivers, and overall the whole area that they're in.
"I agree. I really like it here." Cas says, smiling.
The night goes on and the two get more and more drunk, but they don't care, they're having a good time hanging out with one another and just talking. A little ways into the night, two girls walk up behind both Dean and Cas, each putting a hand on the guy's shoulders.
"Well hello ladies." Dean smirks, nodding at Cas, both men turning to face the women. They're both gorgeous. The woman talking to Dean has brown hair and bright blue eyes, and the girl talking to Cas has lighter hair and deep brown eyes.
Dean is obviously comfortable with flirting with the girl who's talking to him, Marissa, but Cas is a bit uncomfortable, and it's pretty obvious. "Ladies, will you give me a second with my friend here?" Dean asks, nodding towards Cas.
The women both step back and go to order more drinks, making Dean look at Cas. "You good, buddy? You seem uncomfortable." Dean asks, wondering if something's wrong.
"I'm fine. Clara just... isn't my type, I guess." Cas says about the girl who's been flirting with him.
"We can switch, if you want. I don't mind, and I'm sure they wouldn't either. They both seem to like us both." Dean says, shrugging, assuming that Cas would be okay with that.
"Well... Marissa isn't really my type either." Cas says, shifting in his seat uncomfortably.
"Hell Cas, they're polar opposites, what else would be your type?" Dean asks, wondering how Cas couldn't find either woman attractive.
"It's complicated, and not something I want to share here.." Cas admits, taking a big drink from his beer.
The girls walk back up to the two, but Dean offers to buy their drinks and send them on their way. They seemed a little upset about it, but they accepted the free drinks anyways, and Dean closed out his and Cas' tab. "C'mon, let's go." Dean says, leading Cas out of the bar.
Cas follows, walking outside with Dean and feeling the warm summer air hit his face. "Dean, you didn't have to do that." He says, once they're in a more quiet spot, heading towards the car.
"I know, but I could tell you weren't enjoying yourself in there, so I couldn't help but get us out." Dean admits, sending a message to Sam telling him that they're leaving early and that Sam should call an uber or something. Sam replies, being okay with it since he's still hanging out with the other hunters anyways.
"I'm sorry. I didn't want to make you leave as well." Cas says honestly, he doesn't want his mood to ruin Dean's.
"Cas, it's fine. It was getting stuffy in there anyways, and I want to drive around, see what we can find." Dean says, starting up the car. Cas buckles his seatbelt, still feeling a bit guilty.
