Dean and Cas were stuck in purgatory. The main issue, though, isn't the monsters constantly hunting them, it's the fact that they can't be near each other.

Angels are like a beacon of energy in purgatory, so Cas made the hard decision to tell Dean this and leave Dean by himself to protect the hunter. Of course, this broke Cas's heart. He doesn't want to leave Dean alone to fend for himself against hundreds or thousands of monsters that want to kill him. Cas also knows, though, that this is the only way to keep Dean somewhat safe.

The two have been apart for about two months now, they're assuming. Time is weird there, but it seems like forever. It's almost unbearable for Dean to not see the angel's electric blue eyes staring back at his.

Dean misses Cas so much, and he's had time to think about the two of them. He's always had some feelings for Cas, yeah, but every second they're apart, the feelings grow stronger.

Dean is finally alone, no monsters near, so he sends a prayer to Cas, hoping he can even hear it there, and hoping that the angel is even still alive.

"Hey Cas... I really miss you. I don't know where to start... I'm not totally sure what I'm going to say either, but all I want you to hear is that I-I love you. With all my heart. I will always love you Cas. Please, once we get back home, don't ever leave me. I really wish you were here with me right now. And I really hope that you're alive and well." Dean prays, knowing that he may be too late. He really hopes he isn't though.

When Cas hears this confession from Dean, he stops fighting whatever insane monsters that are trying to kill him. Before he does get killed, though, he realizes he needs to get to Dean. He needs to tell him that the feelings are returned.

Cas fights off every monster he sees and runs manically all over purgatory, not knowing where he's been, or where he's going. After almost two full days of running across the endless forest, and killing things on the way, he hears a loud groan. Shit, he can't be too late.

When Cas approaches a herd of monsters fighting over something, he knows it's Dean. Cas fights off every one of them until he is standing over Dean. He's bloody, bruised, extremely dirty, and on the verge of unconsciousness.

Cas throws Dean over his shoulder, running to a cave that looks vacant, and uses the last little bit of his grace to heal up the hunter. When Dean wakes up almost 12 hours later, he's terrified.

"Please! No!" Dean yells, thrashing against Cas's embrace.

"Dean! Dean, calm down, it's me." Cas says, pulling Dean up into a tight hug.

"Cas? Is that really you? I'm not dead?" Dean asks, his voice scratchy and deeper than usual.

"It's me, Dean." Cas says, smiling into the hunter's hair as he wraps his arms around Cas.

"Fuck. I thought you were dead man." Dean sighs, relieved that Cas is okay. "How did you find me? I would have been killed if you didn't." Dean asks, pulling back from the hug. Dean sits against a rock sticking out of the ground, moving his neck around. He's sore.

"When you prayed to me a few days ago, I knew I had to find you." Cas says, breathing a relieved sigh. He's so thankful that he got to Dean at the right time.

"So... you heard that..." Dean says, awkwardly shifting against the rock.

"Yes, I did. When I did, I almost burst into tears. Did you mean it like I think you did?" Cas asks, scooting closer to Dean.

"Maybe... How do you think I meant it?" Dean asks, obviously nervous, looking down at his hands.

"I think you meant that you are in love with me, and that you don't want me to ever leave you again." Cas says, pulling Dean's chin up to look at him.
