I wrote this while I was at the beach, so it may not be the best lmaoo
Dean and Cas are at the beach for their three-year anniversary. They've gone every summer together since they met. They were best friends up until one year at the beach, Dean got drunk one night and admitted his feelings for Cas. Cas just shook it off for that night, but he brought it up the next morning which resulted in the two becoming boyfriends.
It is early in the morning and Dean was, oddly, up first, cooking a nice breakfast for the two. Cas just smiled, today's their three-year anniversary and Dean is always super excited and loving, but on their anniversary, its multiplied by at least 50.
"Good morning, Angel. Happy anniversary!!" Dean says, walking over to Cas, smiling widely. Cas smiles and kisses Dean passionately as soon as he is in reach.
"You didn't have to do this Dean," Cas smiles, looking around the condo and smiling. It was cleaned up, Dean cooked breakfast, and there was a small gift bag in the living area.
"Yes I did, happy three years baby!" Dean says, wrapping his arms around Cas and pulling him into a tight hug.
Cas smiles. He loves it when Dean is touchy and romantic. "I love you Dean, happy three years." Cas says calmly but smiling widely.
"I love you too." Dean says, pulling back and getting the two's breakfast, heart shaped waffles with strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream, syrup, French toast, and mimosas.
"Dean this is amazing." Cas says, taking a bite of the waffle.
Dean chuckles, smiling, but almost a nervous laugh. Cas shakes it off when Dean asks, "So, what do you want to do today?" The day before, Cas told him not to schedule anything, that he knew what they were going to do.
"First, we're going shopping in town, I need to pick up a few things, then we're gonna go out on the beach and find something fun to do... parasailing, dolphin tour, banana boat rides!" Cas suggests. Dean nods and finishes his breakfast quickly and running to get dressed.
Cas smiles as he leaves the room quickly and looks back over to the small gift bag he noticed earlier. He walks over to it and debated whether or not he wants to know what it is yet. He decided he can take a little peek, nothing too revealing.
He starts to carefully pull back the light green wrapping paper, seeing something dark, but he can't totally tell what it is. "No peeking!" Dean yells, coming back into the room and snatching the bag from Cas' hands. "How much did you see?!" Dean asks, nervously.
"Nothing! Just something dark.. I'm not even sure what color it was!" Cas says, sitting on the couch, looking up at Dean.
"Don't peek, you'll ruin the surprise!" Dean says, his breathing that was fast, slowing down.
"Don't worry! I won't again, I promise! But when are we doing gifts? I wanna show you what I got!" Cas asks, excitedly.
Dean smiles. Even though Cas almost ruined the surprise, he can't stay mad at him. "Later, after dinner, but let's go shopping a little later. I wanna hang out in here for a bit, maybe sit on the balcony." Dean says and Cas smiles. He kisses Dean softly, but deeply.
After, he goes into their room in the condo and gets ready just in case they go down to the beach. He just can't believe it's been three years since they first got together. It feels like just yesterday they were just best friends on this beach trip, and now, who knows, they could be in it for life.
Cas thinks on that while he gets ready, the future. He wants to have a life with Dean, get married, live in a white picket fence house, but he doesn't know if Dean wants that. He seems perfectly happy with being just boyfriends, and while its better than friends alone, it's not enough.
Cas calms his thoughts and combs his hair, breathing a deep breath before walking out to the living area to Dean. "Hey, De." Cas says, looking over at Dean who's looking inside the present for Cas, smiling widely.
Dean looks up from the present and smiles, he grabs Cas' hand and leads him out to the balcony, going back into the condo for a second to get drinks, he says.
Cas looks down at the beautiful ocean and white sand and notices a little arch with flowers and shells on it, and a little further up, a question written in the sand. 'Will U Marry Me?' It says.
"Dean! Look, someone's proposing soon!" Cas says, but when he turns around to look for his boyfriend, he sees him kneeling on the ground, one knee down. "Dean," Cas says breathlessly.
Dean smiles and pulls Cas' present out from behind his back, opening it and showing a dark purple velvet box. "Cas, I have loved you for years and years, even before we were dating, and I know you've been hinting to getting married soon, but I already had this planned for this exact date. I'm sorry I made you wait so long, but Castiel Novak, my angel, will you marry me?" Dean asks, opening the box and showing a silver ring with a blue and green gem in it.
Cas smiles widely, it's the most beautiful sight Dean has ever seen, and nods with tears in his eyes. "Yes, of course!" He says, launching himself down to Dean and hugging him tightly. His tears of joy drip onto Dean's shoulder, but he pulls back and kisses Dean passionately. "I love you so much Dean." He says in between tiny pecks as the kiss breaks apart.
"I love you too Cas... I'm just sorry I had to make you wait for so long." Dean says, grabbing Cas' hand gently and sliding the ring onto his finger. "Do you like it? Does it fit well? They said we could resize it if we needed to..." Dean asks, nervously. Cas just stares at it, amazed at the sight of an engagement ring on his finger.
"It's perfect Dean, and it's okay that I had to wait, it was worth it." Cas smiles.
"I'm glad it was." Dean says, smiling. "Oh, and the archway, it's up for another hour or so, do you want to go take some pictures?" He asks.
"Yes! Hold on, let me get dresses in something nicer though..." Cas says, starting to walk back into the condo.
"No, you look beautiful just how you are. C'mon, let's go. There are a few people here who want to see you anyways." Dean smiles.
When the two got down to the beach, they're met with Sam, Gabriel, and Charlie. They all talk for a while before Sam says he's taken up the hobby of photography. He took Dean and Cas' pictures in many different positions and times during their beach day.
At the end of the day, Cas downloaded the pictures onto his laptop and the two decided on one picture that they loved to put on wedding invitations. It was them too, staring at each other, backs to the camera, smiling as wide as ever. You could tell, the only thing each other saw at the beach that day was the other man, happier than ever.
