(M/n) groaned in frustration, gripping his hair in his hands, hardly pulling it without caring about the pain he put his scalp through.

He had been trying to read the same stupid page from his textbook for about ten minutes now, and he still had trouble understanding the damn words written on the paper. He was mad and frustrated, feeling impotent because of his dyslexia.

Usually, he would take his time to relax between sentences, making sure he didn't misspell or misread something, but that day he wasn't feeling calm at all... and the reason was probably that he wasn't at his house, but his crush's house instead. In his room, to be precise.

His heart was pounding against his ribcage, nervousness making him dizzy. He didn't want to make a fool of himself in from of Kise, even less wanted to let him know about his dyslexia, the thought of the blond making fun of him made his heart feel heavy.

"Hey, (M/n)cchi! Do you want...?" Said blond had just walked in, startling the male but he didn't look up just yet, blinking rapidly as he tried to get rid of his tears. "What's wrong?" Kise asked walking in as he closed the door behind him.

He sat next to him and just then, (M/n) looked up, making eye contact with Kise's yellow eyes. His handsome features left him breathless, like always, and a shiver ran down his spine as his warm hand played with his hair gently, a small smile on his face.

"Your hair's a mess," he chuckled softly, a blush rushing up to (M/n)'s face as he glanced back at his textbook, just then Kise realized he was doing homework, "Oh, you're having trouble with that? Read me the question, I might be able to help you."

(M/n)'s body froze, and cold sweat started to drip down his neck at Kise's request. What was he supposed to do now? Does he read it? Does he hands the book to Kise so he reads it himself...? Actually, that's a decent idea.

He turned to hand the book over to the blond, but the basketball player was on his phone, completely oblivious to his panic. Kise was smiling at his phone every now and then, before tapping on the screen, it was obvious he was texting someone, so he was busy at the moment.

The last thing (M/n) wanted was to disturb him, so he took a shaky breath and started to silently read the question, rehearsing to himself before saying it out loud.

Kise noticed the silence, so he looked up from his phone, and he realized that (M/n) seemed to be having an inner conflict with himself, confusing him. He set his phone down, catching the (h/c) haired male's attention.

(M/n) panicked even more when he noticed that Kise was paying close attention to him now, clearly waiting for him to read the question out loud, which did nothing to calm him down.

He tried, he really did. (M/n) tried to read out loud the words in the book, but he only managed to stutter and mix up words, his mind dizzy as it seemed like the letters were moving from one side to the other, changing the word as the letters changed place. He felt useless. He was seventeen years old and yet he couldn't do a simple thing such as reading a question out loud.

"I'm so pathetic..." he mumbled his thought accidentally, and Kise was able to hear him. The blond frowned as he inched closer to the male and held his face in his hands.

"You're not pathetic, (M/n)cchi." His yellow eyes stared into (e/c) teary eyes, and he felt a sudden pain in his chest, "Just because you have dyslexia it doesn't mean you're pathetic, okay?" He wrapped his around the male's shoulders, holding him close to his chest as he stroked his hair. "I can help you with it if you want, like... give you a r-reward for every correct se-sentence you read...?"

Kise wasn't sure what he was doing at the moment, this was so unlike him, but there was something deep in the back of his mind that told him to help his friend. He didn't have anything to lose anyway.

(M/n) blinked a few times, before slowly pulling away from their hug, staring into Kise's eyes, making the blond feel nervous as his gaze shifted away. "What kind of reward, Kise...?"

The blond started sweating and nervously chuckling as he unwrapped his arms from around his shoulders, scratching the back of his head.

"A-anything you wa-want, hehehe...."

(M/n) considered it for a few seconds, when the mental image of kissing Kise flashed inside his mind, causing a dark blush to rush up to his face, making him look away too in embarrassment. "O-...okay, then..."

The rest of the time was spent in a weird silence, with awkward interactions between both of them as Kise helped (M/n) with the insecurities his dyslexia made him have, and by the end of the day, he had managed to read an entire paragraph correctly, so now he had to choose his reward.

He thought for a few seconds if what he wanted to ask might be too much, but Kise did say 'anything' and... it was now or never.

(M/n) cleared his throat, shyly looking down at his fingers, "I-uh... w-want, uhm..." he hesitated for a few seconds, before nearing his chin closer to his chest, mumbling as quietly as he could, "C-can I... ki-kiss you...?"

The silence that followed let him know that Kise hadn't heard him at all, so he sighed in relief and looked up, only to be greeted by a very flustered Kise Ryouta, who was staring at him with wide eyes.

Fuck, he heard me...!

"Uh, I-it-eh... it was a-uhm..." (M/n) stuttered, his mind empty now that he had to think of a believable excuse. And so, he resorted to his last option; bail. "I gotta go, Kise! C'ya!" He exclaimed standing up and grabbing his stuff in a hurry, but a hand gripped his wrist, preventing him from leaving.

When he looked over, he saw Kise's embarrassed expression, his yellow eyes glancing away from his eyes to the floor every few seconds, "If it's t-that what y-you want then..." Kise stood up too, standing in front of him, placing his hands on (M/n)'s shoulders and closing his eyes.

The (h/c) haired male was about to have a mental breakdown, but he was brought to reality by Kise shaking him slightly. They made eye contact, despite both of them feeling as shy and embarrassed as ever, and Kise held the back of his neck gently.

"A-are you going to ki-kiss me o-or not?" He asked quite agitated, (M/n) felt his hand shaking against his skin and he realized that he was as nervous as he was, and that made him feel somehow more at ease.

(M/n) reached his hands up and held Kise's face gently, stroking his red cheeks and leaning closer as his eyes drifted from his lips to his bright yellow eyes. Kise was also staring at him, but once their eye contact broke and his gaze landed on his lips, he was unable to look away, an urge making itself present in his mind.

I wanna kiss him... Kise thought just before a soft and warm feeling pressed against his lips. The urge became stronger, and he ended up closing his eyes, holding (M/n) closer to him as their kiss deepened.

They lost themselves in the other's lips, their heart pounding inside them as goosebumps covered their bodies from head to toe.

(M/n) broke their kiss first, and backed away with a smile, grabbing his things and heading to the front door. "I'll see you tomorrow... Ryouta."

The blond felt a shiver down his spine as the male said his name, and was only able to nod as he saw him leave his house.

When he came back in himself, he lifted his hand slowly, gracing his lips with the tips of his finger. So soft... gentle and... tender.

He shook his head before turning around and face-planting on his bed.

Fuck, I'm in love.
