Natawa naman ito nang tila mapansin ang pananahimik ko. "I realize we didn't get off to the best start. I'm Michael---you can call me Mike." sabi nito at ngumiti ako ng tipid. "Uh-sure."
"So, hindi mo din gusto si Sophia?" mahinang tanong ko.
"Nope. Not even when she started followin' my brother Blake and me around like a little puppy dog when we were kids." sabi nito saka tumawa ng mahina at tiningnan ko siya mula ulo hanggang paa, at masasabi kong magkapatid nga ito dahil sa maraming pagkakatulad nila.
"So, is she uhm..is her family?"
"Like ours? Yeah, but of the Irish variety." sabi nito na kinayuko ko.
"You need to know the she's been gaga for Blake since they were in high school. Héll, I wouldn't be surprise if she kílled you simply to get back at him for turning her down." sabi nito na natatawa pa. "Ano?"
Mike cocks his head to one side and grins, na mas naging dahilan para magtaasan ang mga balahibo ko. "But hey, I have a solution." sabi nito saka lumapit sa akin. "You do?"
"Yeah..Break it off." sabi nito na kinalaki ng mata ko. "You don't need my baby brother to protect you...I can do that---" sabi nito saka ako kinorner sa pader at tiningnan ang buong mukha ko. "Just tell my brother that you've had a change of heart." sabi nito at agad ko siyang nilayo sa akin.
"I-I can't do that!"
"Can't or won't?!" seryoso niyang sabi na kinaatras ko lalo na ng hawakan nito ang buhok ko at ipaikot sa daliri niya saka inipit sa gilid ng tainga ko na kinapikit ko, bakit parang mas nakakatakot pa siya kesa kay Blake.
Huminga ako nang malalim saka buong lakas ko siyang tinulak. "What the héll?! I'm trying to help you, babe." sabi nito na kinatawa ko ng mahina.
"You pointed your gun at me a few days ago, so why are you pretending to care about me now?" sabi ko dito. "Things have changed..babe." sabi nito.
"You, fiancee ako ng kapatid mo! How dare you!" sigaw ko dito. Mike chuckles before shrugging. "Merely laying the idea on the table for you..it's good to keep your options open, doll." napailing nalang ako saka siya balak talikuran ng hawakan nito ang braso ko at ibinalik sa pagkakasandal ko sa dingding. "Hey you, we're not done---!"
"Gets your hands off!" sigaw ni Blake at hindi na maipinta ang galit sa mukha nito. "Blake!"
"Mike, what the fúck are you playing at?!" Mike chuckles and raises his hand and back away. "Nothing, bruh. Just being friendly."
Agad na lumapit ako kay Blake, and he pulls me into his embrace while sending Mike a deathly stare. "Well, hear this, bruh..Touch her again and I'll cut you." Blake grips my hand, leading me away, and I realize that his outburst has gathered a lot of attention from the guest.
"Wait, where are we--?"
"Come on, WE'RE LEAVING!" seryoso niyang sabi. The crowd splits as Blake leads me through the gossiping guest.

Once home, Blake sits on the couch, resting his head in his hands. Huminga ako nang malalim dahil hindi pa ito nagsasalita simula ng lisanin namin ang party.
"Blake calm down. Nothing happened." sabi ko nang maupo ako sa tabi niya at hawakan ang balikat nito.
"It's not that simple. I won't allow anyone to hurt you. Not Sophia. Not Mike. No one!" sabi ko at tinitigan ko siya. "Bakit?" tanong ko at tiningnan niya ako. "Because you're mine!" sabi nito.
"Huh? Yours?!" gulat kong sabi.
"Don't read into it. You know what I mean." sabi nito. "I'm not sure that I do."
