Departure.
When leaving is all the choice you’ve got.

We were in a black jeep. My eyes were still focused on my phone. He sat beside me, his body stiff and I couldn’t deny the warmth I was feeling from him being there.

I couldn’t just brush aside the events that took place hours ago from my memory. Axina stood still, tears pouring down her cheeks. She said nothing to me while I went with Roux.

When the car was moving, I turned back giving her a pity face but she was already retreating with Dylan by her side. None of the pack members knew I was gone with Roux, Dylan made sure of that.

My gaze was still fixed on my phone but I could still feel his eyes burning in my direction.

Maybe I was over thinking it, he wouldn’t do that… would he?

I turned my head slowly and then it happened. Our gaze was held for what seemed like an eternity but was just a moment. The beeping sound of his phone called for his attention and just then, he looked away.

I didn’t have a say or the guts to even ask. I let my mind wander even if my eyes were focused on the phone, thinking of what the day ahead holds.

“Get everything out,” a thick hoarse voice instructed, bringing me out of my trance. The door opened on my side before I flickered my eyelashes, surprised at what was happening.

Was it my mind playing tricks on me or was I too shocked of what a kind gentleman he could be.

He stared at me with what I haven’t seen before, his eyes sparkling and the moment I blinked, he let his impassive demeanor slip in.

“Get down,” he said calmly and I was obliged to do so, I was still lost in his eyes, those eyes that holds a lot and still have  the ability to crush one’s soul.

“Al-alright,” I muttered, which I was sure he heard. I came down from the car while he walked by my side. I couldn’t brush aside how tensed I was.

Not only because he was by my side but I’ll have to come to terms with the environment.

“Why are you following me?” I blurted out almost shocked as the words left my mouth. He turned to look at me and my heart just melted thinking of what he was going to say.

Stupid mate bond.

I’m so embarrassed of my self and the rapid rising and falling of my chest made it all worse.

“I’m not following you” he replied, his words travelling really fast to the part of the brain I never knew I had.

Was I going to cry or just yell at him. I’ve lost all control and I’m so mad at myself. He turned his head still, walking at his on pace while my mind lost its function to think. We walked down the hallway and I was so grateful that it was empty.

The familiarity of the place came  fresh on my mind as I thought about the escape and how he must have reacted. I still wondered if he has any plans on punishing me.

“You know where you stay,” He said but his voice kept ringing in my mind before I saw his figure take another direction. Was he still angry with me or was I just over thinking things.

I stood by myself in the lonely hallway thinking of the door that led to my room. There were two doors, one by the left and another by the right. After much pondering, I decided to take the one by the right.

I opened the door, welcomed by the sight I had once seen before. The Windows were open and I went by instinct to close them.

I collapsed myself on the fluffy bed before I sat up straight. My eyes travelling to where my luggages were kept neatly by the side of the door and then, I sighed in relief.
