Her.
I couldn’t believe it with my eyes, it was almost like a dream.
Days has passed even weeks but still, Roux is never around. When I try talking to him, he just gets me annoyed. He’s not even willing to tell me anything. He goes out as early as seven in the morning and I don’t get to see him again till the next day.
He left his Beta in charge. Axina is still around and I’m grateful for that. I got to meet other pack members. Most of them happened to still believe that I was a bad person while others considered me good.
Anna is one hell of a character. Her silly and cheesy attitude still keeps a balance in my life.
I was actually in the library. I haven’t bothered to open the book, the old man had given me earlier. It was sealed and I was guessing the name of the book would be inside.
I stopped myself most of the time from actually reading it. I haven’t unsealed it. The book keeps drawing me and I had angrily kept It together with my other items but hidden.
I had come to the library in search of the old man but for the past 30 minutes, I haven’t felt anyone and is as though the man decided not to show up today.
I flipped through the book in front of me until a drawing caught my eyes but it was of two stars and a moon. The drawing felt out of place.
We wait for our moon to attract us the stars.
Was a writing written below it. I kept my eyes fixed on it but didn’t know what it meant.
We considered the moon to be really connected to the moon goddess and why would the stars be waiting for the moon. Something wasn’t right and I felt as though I needed the librarian more than ever if as though he could make out what the drawing meant. I folded the page neatly before I closed the book, taking it with me.
I left the library back to my room. I searched my things for the other book before it caught my eyes. My eyes kept glued on it, as if an unknown force was drawing me to it. I covered it with my other items, keeping the second book ‘lycanthropes’ together with it. I inhaled deeply before I left the room, a strange scent drawing me. I couldn’t make out what it was. It was intoxicating yet alarming, not smelling of a wolf but of something magical. I inhaled again, following the scent that called out to me.
We must fight together as one.
A whisper as though in a dream. Still, the scent was persistent, drawing me. The pack house was unusually empty and I could still make out tiny noises indicating that they were all gathered. I walked outside but still, I didn’t catch a glimpse of anyone.
To the forest,
We swim in the beautiful river, drawing out our potential
The voice more prominent than ever and I was moved to look back, still nobody.
I walked silently, slightly cautious of myself but still intoxicated by the scent.
Ralia dear, my beautiful baby.
Another voice yet again and something in it felt safe.
“Lis lis fruitali lis, abis magnetalis , shotilis, froca en la ba creiii” I stopped, unsure of what I was saying. It felt strange coming out from my mouth. I inhaled and exhaled, the scent more prominent. I had passed most of the woods and was moving at a normal pace to an unusual place and then the scent vanished.
I was more aware of myself this time. I looked at the magnificent image in front of me. A statue stood glowing. I was moved to touch it and as I did, I was zapped inside. The place felt strange but exceptionally beautiful. It didn’t feel normal. I lost all connections, connection from the world I was coming from.
Come my child
A voice spoke and I recognized it immediately as my mother. I looked straight, my eyes fixed on something and the scent filled my nostrils again, drawing me to it. I followed it and was surprised at the scene that unfolded before me. In the river, the full moon shining brightly, it was undeniably beautiful. A woman with white hair was in the middle, the sight was clear. The scent took hold of my senses again and I jumped inside the river.
I swam to the direction of the woman and when she turned, I didn’t know whether I was supposed to cry or hug the woman before me. Her blue eyes burning directly at mine. Her skin glowed of happiness. Her lips parted and then immediately, she smiled. She wore what I was guessing to be a white sleeveless gown, her hair knotted with white shells, some parts were still left to fall freely.
“Mama” I croaked, tears of joy streaming down my face. She moved to touch me, tucking my ash hair behind my ear, her gaze not leaving mine. I moved my self, she hugged me warmly. Her hands were warm and it felt so unreal.
“You are not dreaming Li” she reassured. Li was the pet name mom had given me, whenever she called me, it sent a sense of comfort, a reassuring one.
“But you’re…”
“Don’t say my child” she said before I could finish.
“You’ve grown so much Li,
My beautiful daughter,” she said sweetly leading me from the river. We both stood in bare foot, I looked, scanning the environment I was in. The feeling was so unreal, I couldn’t put my self to look for any logical answer or name for this place.
“You think too much my child” I have many questions to ask unsure if I could even get answers.
“Mama, what are you doing in this place?” I asked and my mom looked at me, unsure of what to say to keep me at ease.
“My child, this is my new home, a place of less worry and of peace,” She assured. Her eyes flickering with a little bit of sadness yet it still held happiness.
“Then why am I here?” I asked disheartened looking at my mother who was supposedly dead.
“Li, your powers are growing stronger each day that passes by. You’re my little angel. Another part of you has developed. The part linked to the dead. You needed me mostly and you found your way to me at the end.” She answered smiling and I returned the smile as well. I couldn’t think clearly. Everything was just juggled in my brain.
“Mama, you’re the only one here, aren’t you supposed to be with the moon goddess or something,”
“You’re right my daughter but it’s slightly different as it’s believed. When one dies, someone that is extremely good, they are gifted with the place connected with their mind as a home. They can equally visit each other and also the moon goddess if they please,”
“That’s incredible, what about those who are horrible?” I asked.
“They are doomed in their worst nightmare.”
I wouldn’t want to be doomed in my worst nightmare, in fact I want a place as peaceful as the place my mother was presently in.
My mother traced her tan fingers down my face gently. She ruffled my hair, her eyes fixed on mine.
“My daughter, you are great beyond all measures, I’m really terrified but I know that you know the right thing to do” She said wrapping me up in her arms and I felt the comfort a child feels with the mother.
Slowly, I started fading gently from my mother’s arm and back to the actual world where I had found the statue. I stood looking at it. Realising all that had just happened. A distant voice caught my attention and I turned to look at a figure advancing towards me before the familiar scent was ruffled through my nostrils, almost melting me from the delight it gave me. He was close enough now, his brown eyes directly on mine. I couldn’t resist and I was moved to touch his face which sent electricity. I was unsure if he felt It too. I stopped myself, waiting for the worst that would come.
