Diana.
A female given name.

Yesterday was a messy day and it had to do with me getting my butt kicked. I just don’t know what to do, I’m confused, tired and annoyed. Maria had told me the basic things I needed to know but still, I don’t feel at ease, I feel like my whole world is tearing apart and I’m scared I’m going to fix it the wrong way.

The door handle turned to the other side before it made the creaking noise, interrupting me from my thoughts. Before I could seat up, someone had already entered, heading to the direction where I was.

“You’re awake” Diana’s soft hypnotizing voice said.

She’s the pack doctor, the person who Roux had taken me to yesterday even when I told him more than a hundredth time that I was fine.

Diana on her own didn’t want me to leave either, she had prepared the bed for me before I laid there and I haven’t woken up since then, not until this morning.

She placed her hands on my forehead feeling my temperature. She turned to look at me with a worried expression.

“Are you okay?” She asked but I just smiled.

“You look stressed” she commented.

“I’m perfectly fine” I told her.

“I was just thinking about about a lot of things” I said after.

“And why is that?” She asked again.

“Never mind” I replied.

I didn’t like bugging people with my problems and I certainly don’t know how Diana’s life is and it won’t be advisable to start pouring out my heart to her.

“You don’t have to worry about me Maya, I certainly consider your problem as mine, even if I won’t give any helpful feedback but at least, you’ll have someone to talk to,”

I gave Diana an appreciative smile. She’s different from the others and actively feels what the other person was feeling. She possesses the charm of a very caring mother and talking to her is as if I’m talking to my mother.

“I’m just worried and I feel like I’m taking the wrong step each time I make a decision. I don’t really know how to explain it but I can’t understand my life anymore.”

She looked at me empathetically and all the uneasiness I was feeling earlier suddenly vanished. Her icy blue orbs were doing something unexplainable to me.

“Who are you?” I asked and I regretted almost immediately.

It had been in me to ask right from the very first day I met her after I noticed something very peculiar about her. The air around her was different, she smelt of a wolf but I just couldn’t stop my curiosity.

“I’m Diana,” she replied innocently.

I wanted to say something again but I stopped myself. I stared at her for a long time before I embraced her, breathing in her cool scent of coconut mixed with olive.

“I’m sorry” I said after I had released her.

“You shouldn’t be,” she smiled.

“You know, in life, you’re the greatest cause of your own problem. You feel you’re right and then you’re wrong. You feel you’re wrong and then you’re right.”

I smiled at Diana and indeed her words made me feel better than I was before.

“Diana” I called

“Yes dear” she replied, I looked at her then I looked down immediately, playing with my fingers.
